The Secret Box. *Dun Dun Dunnnnn!*
**Read below before answering** Would you open the box?

So here's a situation. A friend gives you a fairly large box to look after while they need to do something real quick. At best they'll be back in 3 minutes. The one condition they have for you though is that NOT for ANY circumstances are you to look in the box. If they found out you looked they will be uber-pissed at you for like an hour. Your friend then leaves to attend to their business. You feel proud that your friend would trust you with a mysterious box, but really start to wonder what might be inside. You shake it around to try to guess what the contents might be, but you hear nothing. You heft it up and down a bit, realizing it's a decent weight of maybe 15-20 pounds. The curiosity starts to set in and you go through so many things that could be in the box. A cat? Severed head? Old ero-mangas? Pictures of said friend shooting milk out of his ass? You desperately want to open it. It's just a quick peek, it can't be that bad. I still got a few more minutes before he returns. But if I open it, I'd be betraying his trust and our friendship. A decision has to be made...
WAY TOO LONG; DIDN'T READ - A mystery box is given to you by a friend to look after. You're not supposed to look, says this friend. Open it or not?
So basically this is about the uncontrollable curiosity we all have whenever we're told not to do something or not to look somewhere. Cases like these have happened before in all our lives and each of our decisions may have varied. So my question again is:
Open the box or not? Why or why not?
Admittedly, I'd open the box. I just can't help satisfy that urge to know what's inside. Granted that if the box was really THAT important, my friend wouldn't just hand it to me.
So what would you all do? Discuss please. =3

I don't know, I'd maybe end up opening it to see whats inside. but it might be something inside that I'd end up regreting.

A ray of Tsunlight.
Wouldn't open it. Though I'd eventually pester them into letting me know what it was.

If a friend left me in charge of a box like that, odds are I'd just leave it in a corner somewhere until he comes back for it. In short, I wouldn't open it.

I probably wouldn't open it because I don't really care either way. I would just be like "meh" and go about doing what I was before. Besides, it's not my stuff so I don't really give a damn about it.

Nah, most probably wouldn't open it. I figure that looking inside the box would be more trouble than its worth. Besides, because he is my friend I wouldn't open it, as I believe he will not give me something malicious or something that would get me in trouble. Otherwise, I would open it the moment you leave my sight or never accept the box.

I'd open it like it was the most dangerous item in the world.
I would build a robot to exact its contents.

I wouldn't open it. Considering some of my friends, there probably really would be a 15 or 20 pound weight inside the box.

Clearly none of you have lived in an apartment with other people. They order something, the package comes in, you don't open it. Quite simple.
What I'm saying is that there wouldn't even be temptation.

I wouldn't open it. Trust is given, not earned, like most people believe it to be. People have a tendency to give trust to someone, but the level of trust given is how much the person wants to give.
Understandably, it's a hard urge to control human curiosity, but, we have enough self-control to suppress that feeling.

No, I would not open it. I would respect my friend's privacy in the hope that they would do the same for me.
Also, for everyone who opened it, see Pandora's Box.

I probably wouldn't be curious as to what was in it in the first place. Even if I knew, I wouldn't gain anything from it.
So no, of course I wouldn't open it.

Yup, I'd open it. In fact, I'd open it as he's handing it to me. A true friend of mine would know I'm not to be trusted.

Despite being mildly curious about what may be in this "mystery box", I would respect my friend's wishes and not open the box *nods*.
