**Read below before answering** Would you open the box?

Clearly none of you have lived in an apartment with other people. They order something, the package comes in, you don't open it. Quite simple. What I'm saying is that there wouldn't even be temptation.
Your analogy does not work. Delivered packages are not the same as hypothetical 'Secret Box'. This question is asking something completely different.
OT: If I know for sure he/she won't find out I would open it and take a peek. If not, then I'll just leave it alone.

I always open things without thinking about it but then again it's my best friends and who knows what's inside so I guess I will open it anyway they can't really trust me with a box

Normally, I wouldn't care less on the box
but if and only IF I was suddenly possessed by the curious mind, given the situation you said, I'd make someone else open it and ask what is inside since "I" am the only one who isn't supposed to open it

The question is not asking something completely different. There was no description that puts this box out of the ordinary, merely the word "mysterious". A cardboard box can be mysterious, the qualifier here being that it is sealed and you do not know what is inside it.
OP didn't say anything about an anthropomorphic talking bunny handing you box of changing colors and glowing stars that is cool to the touch in some places and warm in others.
So yes, as far as I'm concerned, everyone who would open the box is an insufferable snoop.

I'd only open the box if it was starting to smell/move/be weird and/or dangerous in some way. Otherwise, meh.

If my friend says that he or she will be gone for 3 minutes and I have to look after this mystery box, I won't look. I'll give my him or her the benefit of the doubt and push it up to 4 minutes, but if its any longer, I'll look if I want to.
The way I see it, we entered into a verbal contract, and my friend explicitly stated that I had to watch the box, and not look in it, for 3 minutes. Taking that into account, after 3 minutes I can assume that my friend abandoned the box and, being the one in possession of it, I have a rightful claim of ownership. Not only do I have the right to look, I also have the right to claim possession over any of the contents of the mystery box.
Addressing the main issue, as curious as I may be about what is in the box, if I promise not to open the box, I won't. I don't expect much from humans, in general, so if I was enticed to open the box, it would be a general curiosity as to what could be inside. I couldn't give more of a shit about what someone was hiding.

Naw, I'd only open something like that if my friend left it at my place for over a week or so and I coulden't contact them & no one else knew where they were.
also:
That would be not opening it out of cowardice not trust, although I guess it could be fear of loseing you friends tust :P

I probably would not open the box. If it was making noise, then I may sneak a peek. But I'd most likely just leave it until my friend got back.

I wouldnt ask any question and I wouldnt look inside the box either.
Id look after the box but I wouldnt hold it in my hands... Id put it on the floor and *STARE* at it untill the 3 mins are over and normal service can be resumed. (Probably a Tarantula inside or something)

...I would not be able to stop my curiosity, I would open it.. Yes I know that is horrible. D:
With my luck there would be a camera set to take a picture should the box be opened.

No, I wouldn't open it because I can restrain myself at least that long. But if my friend would be away for about 2 hours or even longer then I would take a peek. I would also do it very carefully so I won't leave any signs of opening (I'm actually quite good hiding it).
