More K-9 hardcoreness >:
I miss him. He could blast shit.
I'm glad also they didn't keep that pre-generation (if that's the right word for it) version of River.
Really didn't suit her.

Yeah, I already dislike the name Mel, and she was a total non-start for me. If they had done more with her than, steal a car, and have a gun, she would have been better.

Well, enough rambling, let's get down to business. What are you most looking forward to this season? What are some of your favorite moments from the show? And most importantly, who is your favorite, or first doctor?
I actually just started watching Doctor Who, series 1 from 2005. I liked it and really want to start watching the newer series but I don't know if I can sit through watching form 2006-now. Is it worth it, or do you think I can skip to a newer series?

I've finally made up my mind about this season.
A resounding "meh."
Every episode has had such great build up, exposition, and deep characterization, only to have an ending that is a complete let down.
I know that this season has been "scarier" than others, and that Stephen King says basically 'never to explain the reason for the horror,' but common. Unless they somehow stuck an unseen(at least by myself)over arching story arc in here somewhere, this will continue to seem like a bunch of unconnected short stories.

I must agree with you with all of that actually. This series has been quite a let down.
I'm quite glad that you do. Because so far, I seem to be the only one. Everybody I talk to IRL about this season treats it as though it's the frigg'n holy grail of Doctor Who.
Yes, Moffat is doing great and wonderful things with the mithos, but it doesn't hold a candle to previous series.

The main reason I haven't talked to anyone about it.
I knew I'd just be fighting a wall.
I'm guessing you thought the same "Oh, Cybermen. Yay >.>".
Not really a spectacular final (they're always a 2-part episode so...)

Trading "LAMY" and "BORE-Y" for Craig is like a dream come true, for me.
But I could give or take the Cybermen. I'd like to see Moffat put his imagination to good use and create some new interesting monsters.

I always hate it when they re-use old enemies especially the Daleks, Cyber-men, and the Egg-men.
I didn't think the whole Silence thing was over but there hasn't been any glimpses of them yet. The Dream Lord seemed to be more than he was because I'm sure when he is defeated the Doctor still seems worried.

Exactly. I will sing this into the sunset. Moffat can create such terrifying foes, only to let them stagnate.
At least RTD got shit done.

To me I think The Silence and The Dream Lord were the best enemies yet of the new Doctor Who (I have no idea of things before Christopher Eccleston).
Though The Dream Lord was finished and explained The Doctor seemed to keep some thing to him self as if he maybe lied (I thought any way). The Silence wasn't finished really in any sense.

As a side note, I think that Torchwood could do amazing things with The Silence. DW, treated them as a real threat, just for them to fizzle out.
Well, there goes a few months as I write that.

I've not been watching Torchwood is Jack back or is it just the old gang with out Jack it be like Doctor Who with out the Doctor.

-edit-
except for the gay sex, but I digress.

I thought this season has been pretty solid, though I too prefer last season. I understand that Saturday's ep is going to be a one-off sequel to 'The Lodger.' Apparently the Cybermen will be the old-school Mondas/Telos variety, and hopefully less lame than New Series Cybermen. And then the last episode is apparently going to be a one-part finale. Or a cliffhanger. Or something. This season Moffat's been more ambitious so we'll see if he can pull a rabbit out of his hat or not.
...Goodness, I've not posted on Fakku for a while.
