Things you do to calm down ?

I usually pop in my headphones to shut out the world and wallow in depression. Usually though my train of thought makes me laugh at how pathetic my life is until I'm happy again.

I get mad too but if I stop playing for a bit and reflect on what I did right and wrong and moves for improvement, then I feel a feeling of content.

Play a game that I can achieve a zen (like) state from.
Listen to music that drains my focus to.
Stare at the wall/ceiling.
Study/learn something new.
Do something else till I've calmed down and can try again.

"calm down" - I'm going to assume this means anger, or sadness, or a mixture of both, and similar feelings ;p
Depending on the situtation, I would:
- watch an episode of anime
- listen to music
- go jogging until I feel better, or punching bag
I remember reading that depending on the situtation, your mind doesn't control how you feel. but after a short while, those feelings become self induced (probably due to fixation, or attachment to the thing that's making you angry/sad)
so you would be making yourself feel sad/angry. and the way I see it, it doesn't really benefit you feeling that way cause it puts you in a mindset that isn't "very welcoming." If I know I'm doing that to myself, I try to think of how silly/pointless putting myself in that state of mind would be.

Have a cup of cranberry juice, masturbate, listen to Racer X, hop on the exercise bike, play videogames, that sort of thing.

These are some steps i take if a time comes when angry consumes me:
1. Take 5 or 6 DEEP breaths
2. Wash my face with hot water (or mild)
3. opt. Soak me feet in hot salt-water
4. Turn on the computer and do two things
5. First go on youtube and listen to this:
6. Open a new tab and go to Rainy Mood and turn the voulme on the site 2 notches down
7. Play the song in the background and listen to the rain fall.
This always helps me gain a calm and serene atmosphere. I hope that this, in some way, helps someone one day.

Usually by running until I forget why I was upset in the first place. If it's impossible to run I take a nap.

I'm always fuckin' calm.
But heavy metal, Super Meat Boy, and "dangerous driving" makes me calmer.
