A number of federal court decisions have held that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also protects job applicants and employees from discrimination based on their sexual orientation. A few states have laws specifically prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation. At present, there are 13 states and more than 200 municipalities (counties and cities) that also have laws that prohibit sexual orientation discrimination.
Forgot about that memo that was mentioned. Oh well, we all make mistakes.
American law quote, Canadian subject.
I fail to see how this could be considered "rational".
Section 15 Canadian Charter
"Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability."
Here is the Canadian equivalent of what TMS was quoting.

Yeah... the firing of people based on sexual orientation is illegal... or atleast a decent lawyer will win a civil lawsuit against these guys...
On a related note, acrombie and fitch have made public the fact that they telll their employees to act stuck up and not to offer to help the customers unless asked first. They only hire attractive employees and their employees also have to appear aloof, non chalant, and not seem overly intelligent.
The idea is to make it feel like you are shopping at a place that hires all the preppy rich kids you wish you were friends with in high school. They want you to want to be like their employees. I worked at Acrombie and fitch for like 2 wks before I found a better job. Years later when I found out about this I was like "Hrm, they thought I was hot? Cool... but wait... they also thought I was stupid and stuck up...!?"
A quick google search will verify what I just said to be true

Beyond being illegal, why would the company deny GAY people?
Ugly ones may blemish the perception of AA, but that's a pretty "gay brand" to begin with.
Also: What do you do to screw a company you don't shop with anyway?

Best case scenario, one of them sues A.A. for discrimination which will pick up media attention and give the company a black eye. Not to mention a hefty hit to their bottom line.
Unless you're looking for pranks to pull then I can't help you.

Sounds like:
1) They are going to lose a lot of profit from ugly and gay people.
2) They've been smoking too much kush.
2.5) They are stupid.
Whatever, my friend's dad does something like build their stores or something a long those lines so I get a discount if I order through him. But I usually don't like buying stuff from there. Rather go to H&M.

I haven't been sleeping enough, failed to think of that myself.
I did think to write a letter to a local "alternative" paper, packaging the memo would definitely increase my argumentative strength.
On the thought, I could hit a bunch of local newspapers, I'm sure that they'd jump on something like that...
(I'm about to google this memo, could somebody else try a quick search too?)

Does everyone working at Chase support racism and war profiteering?
Does everyone working at Coca-Cola support killing union workers and selling dirty water in developing countries?
Anyway, it is wrong.
