I was taught in elementary school how to type but didn't really type their way.
I only use like 6 or 7 fingers when I type, and I can type pretty fast.
They probably press it with one of their typing fingers. My thumbs are completely unused when typing, and only two of my left hand's fingers are used when I'm typing.

I type pretty quickly, my accuracy is pretty good too.
I don't type conventionally, though. The heel of my hands rest on my keyboard, and my hand pivots around the keyboard. So my index fingers don't rest on the f/j, and I rarely use my pinkies.

I have a weird hybrid form of typing.
I use all my fingers, but I don't follow the form of keeping my hands in the exact same spot.
So it actually helps a bit.
I think I type around 87wpm or so.
I remember in Grade 9, my Business teacher made us do typing everday for at least 25 minutes.
Maybe that's why I hate it so much.
...My dad on the other, uses one finger for EVERY LETTER, and doesn't even know where the letters are, so he has around 4wpm or so.

I'm currently taking typing class right now. I gotta say its pretty hard at first but if you get the hang of it then it'll all be good. I could only type like 200 words in 8 minutes but I'm learning.

my average type speed is 120 words per min. I usually was forced to stop typing in some of my middle/high school classes that involved the use of typing, due to my typing being louder than the teacher talking to the class. to exceed that speed i have to roll up my sleeves or take of my jacket if im wearing one. i type using only the three fingers in the middle. i type alot slower if i use the normal way of typing.
