I don't understand why you people get your panties in a bunch over this. They're clearly stating that they don't think that video games were the cause, or that they want to go on some crusade against violent media.I think they want to comment on the people who "don't think that video games were the cause, or that they want to go on some crusade against violent media"; especially on their way of thinking , their logic and arguments.
Anyways, I saw this comment on the article:

Replace "Witch" with "Violent video game" and this is pretty much what I imagine they are doing.
In other words, I think Connecticut is... Well... Foolish.

Not quite a witch hunt yet, but getting too close... Let's just hope someone there won't overdo it.
It's all that maple syrup that keeps them calm.

All the things already said in this thread are valid. I will just agree that going after games thinking that they make people violent is a foolish and an excuse for not wanting to look at the bigger reasons.

Video games can be violent, but you don't see us kids, teens, and adults going around slaying monsters, zombies, and trying to get enough "cash" or "xp" to get that next weapon or armor. If anything video games have taught me stuff and gave me extremely good hand-eye coordination. Parent's only look on the bad side of it all cuz that's all the media pretty much shows.

I think violent video games can cause issues, but it depends on the person. For some violent people the video games could put them over the edge, but for some people including a friend I had in high school violent video gmaes are one of few reasons they DONT go out and shoot people. They have an outlet to use so they dont get too angry. its kind of a catch 22 where bad things can happen either way
