What are/were your infections?

Come on, admit it, most of us (if not, all of us) have had at least one computer infection in our lives. So, what were they? How did you deal with it? If you still have the reports, why not post them?
I've had some nasty shit on my system this year, but thankfully, Malwarebytes owned them. I'm so glad that a product like this exists and best of all, it's free.
This is the worst infection I've had in one time on this computer:
I thought about making this because of another thread in the same page where people were talking about how limewire infected they're computers. In my case, I think I got this crap when I was trying to find hentai websites and a dvd burner software
Since I don't download any software before I get several opinions and check Web of trust.
I also had that goddamn MSN mesanger virus that was running around. Basically, one of your infected friends would send you a message asking you if you wanted to check out they're photos with a link. You'd click on that link, and boom. Your computer was infected within seconds.

SasserB virus when there was still no removal tool for it. Thankfully I was able to fix it back then.
These days I haven't had any major PC infections thankfully, but I'm still very paranoid with usb drives from my classmates/friends who tend to use computer rental shops. Those usbs are like whores with STD's.
EDIT: I also recall having to reformat my PC back then when I used Kazaa and WinMX back in the dialup days. Never found out the culprit virus though.

Kazaa.....omg...that program fucked my friend's pc up so bad. It had some kind of malware or virus or some shit where, you couldn't right click anymore...at all. On anything. Be it browser or just when you were on the desktop. You'd right click, and that loading icon would continuously spin and sometimes that would freeze the computer.

That's why I still tend to stay away from using p2p apps that are like it (Lime and Frostwire) and switched to torrents when I learned of it.

Only thing that's happened to me in the past couple years was a virus that caused my computer to restart every time it booted up. In an infinite loop. Had to bring it back to Factory default. Feels bad, man.

Pretty much just something that killed my desktop and made me do things from the task manager for a while. Yay for safe mode and HijackThis. Haven't had anything happen in years though, you don't get anything if you just look before you click.

The only major problems I had were on my old Cryix 686 166Mhz Computer. This was back in the windows 95 era where the comptuer would be perfectly fine today & be completely screwed the next time I turn it on (just goes into BSOD or goes to black screen or a black screen about windows can't load due to some file(s) were missing).
Had no other major problems from all my other computers after that one (2.4Ghz P4, 3.2Ghz P4 & a Q6600).

a damn persistent BSOD which no matter how many times i did a clean install of win7 wouldn't go away :( but after a few clean installs :P i understood that something in Realplayer didn't like the aero effect of win 7(thing that used to work perfectly fine with vista) anyway i just decided to go on without Realplayer(instead Vlc and Media player classic FTW :))
except this little problem also got that "antivirus 2009" sometime back this year and just lately i have been getting those wierd picture links in msn but luckily enough was sure enogh that nobody would send me those so didn't bother opening them at all :P

"ghost A", a hilarious boot sector virus for the Atari ST that would randomly invert your mouse axes. That was twenty years ago.
None else ever since.

The last virus I had was some sort of Trojen, but it didn't do anything. I deleted it with no problem at all..

Like for example, when yourbrowser gets hijacked. What happens then is, when you go to Google to search for something, you'll get redirected at other (malicious) websites. In some cases, Google may not load at all.
Then there are things that are less obvious...like Keyloggers. You don't know you have them till...you lose your account in an online game like WoW, like another user mentionned, or you lose all your credit card money.
You obviously need anti-virus and anti-malware protection against this crap.
