Slump meaning no motivation to do do anything (in my case draw, paint, improve); laziness takes over your creative juices; questioning your skills, reasons, dreams; the frequent loses to my demons of sleep, sloth, and petty excuses. In other words a writer's block for the artist.
I figured slump was a common term, sorry.
Yeah.
It's been hanging on my back for weeks now and I doubt nobody has never had this feeling before.

Before I used to do ALOT of art related stuff, and I mean ALOT, then all of a sudden I lose, or should I say lost since I dont do anything artsy much nowadays anyway, I lose all interest in anything art related, and thats fucking tough especially for me since my JOB is nothing BUT art...
Though I still manage to squeeze some ideas out for my work... Anyway what I usually do when I have NO motivation to do ANYTHING is just put on my headphones and listen to most of the music I have on my ipod... Sure Ive heard it all before about a million times each, but still, I forget what it was I read about, but anyway I think it was somewhere along the lines of "sounds, like smells and tastes, are linked to memory" I might be wrong, hell Im pretty sure I AM WRONG, but it always works for me, since I always and I mean ALWAYS listen to music (even at work) while working on anything, there might have been something about a song that I heard a long time ago that motivated me to do something and it could do it again...
TL;DR: What I use when in a slump: Music...

Most, if not all, of the stuff I draw nowadays is just doodles and sketches that started looking alright to me so I didnt delete/trash can 'em...
...
Also admins/mods, dont put this on IB, not even Random, or Im more than sure, I dare even say POSITIVE, there wont be any answers with even the slightest thought put into them...

Talking to myself, seriously.
It will be a big boost when I do that while I'm also speaking the words I'm going to write. Basically start with random stuffs, then gradually work it out 'til you could feel good when you're writing your own story.
I agree, especially in IB, there's just people trying to troll every single posts available

Ive been in one for the past month. But what i do is take my bike and camera, go out for a ride. Visit certain spots, and pull out my sketchbook. It doesnt always help because people( assholes ) honk, swerve, yell at you. I still do it and i enjoy it.

I, too, am in an artistic slump. And I require some assistance to get me out of it. What I believe I require is inspiration and motivation.

I get like that a lot mostly from frustrations at my own limitations. I don't have a cure all, but getting together for a collab helps sometimes, bouncing ideas off each other helps and their enthusiasm will rub off on you.

im in a slump mostly cuz i've been doing nothing in life
i remember the way my juices start flowing is when im in area where im suppose do something but i dont wanna do it.
i dont know i guess i like to ignore what is needed to do to focus on what i wanna do. im not even sure if that makes senses but thats what helps me

I know what you mean...i think. I used to be in class listening to the test subjects and what not. But instead i would pour out my thoughts grabbed my pencil and began sketching.

This is pretty much what I do. But this usually is attacked by laziness, then you have to force yourself. Sometimes I've been stuck in front of the computer for 2 days straight and I tell myself "you can't do anything else until you finish this, you maggot!". If you keep doing it like that, after a while your creativity wills start flowing like a river.
In 2008, I didn't draw nothing at all for that very reason, but now that I have the time, I did that and I'm making new drawings almost every 2 days, and I'm not forcing myself anymore, but I really want to do it.

The correct answers have been given already. First you find yourself some
Movies work especially well for me (animated or not). Try to find what works best for you.
But since that method isn't fail-proof, it may not be enough. That's when you should
Yep. Sometimes you just have to gulp it down in order to start moving. I find that music works great for mindless drawing.
And there is also a third method that people end up falling on most of the time. And it is to wait. Your mood may be the total opposite tomorrow, you never know. But this comes with it's drawbacks (e.g. it may prolong your slump).
That's about it. I find this to be one of the greatest obstacles an illustrator has to face in order to improve, not only because it keeps coming back at you from time to time but also because it will totally crush your mood.
It's all about commitment.

I owe you one on that part pal, the weekly challenges were a big help in oiling my joints and removing the rust from my hands. Right now I'm quite pleased with how my art is coming out.
Thanks pal!

I do requests.
The shame of not being able to do a request I already promised I'll do is great motivation.
