What is a good choice for an Anti Virus

I've been battling whether I should use avast!, Kaspersky or regular AVG or any other for that matter. I need advice on what to get. (apologies if there is already a post similar to this made before)

I'm not sure if you liked cracked stuff, but you might want to try Norton because I experienced it first hand and I'd say it's good. AVG Free is also nice considering it found what my Norton didn't, well on some occasions.

I'm using NOD32, fast and extremely reliable. I also recommend Kaspersky. Norton is, hmm, not good at all, except if it's Symantec Security Suite.

I was using the 360 version, well I can't say I'm experienced on anti-viruses but it removed most of my viruses :)

Norton is bad. Don't use Norton.I know. It came with my computer, deleted it after it opened, hence me needing a new anti virus

Well it really depends what you need...
for free less important stuff i use comodo on some of my computers.
for something good that needs security and you wont be pirating on i would use AVG.
for normal use and stuff i would use kaspersky.
my dad uses norton and i bash him every time i see him for it. XD
i also don't recommend McAfee.
i have not tried avast. i may do that.

I had norton since like 95. and the only time i got a killer virus was then she didn't renewal. I do like their firewall and ghost.. but not paying for it. Use avg... it kind of a install and forget thing. I have avast on all my lappies and this one i type on now is McAfee since this is my personal work one since my job requires it on every facility computer because of the servers and networking safety..Meh it ok. Never try Microsoft Security Essential yet.. i guess it the replacement for onecare. I guess the only good av is knowledge, caution and downloading and opening on a sandbox drive( drive that disconnected off the main harddrive/ system.).

I suggest you use AVG if you really want an anti-virus but you don't really need one if you avoid shady sites and don't download anything weird.

Common sense.
Well that aside I use avast and scan with malwarebytes every now and then, but since I'm really lax with my files I tend to just system restore if I do get something horrendous, which also should be added that you want to make backup points periodically as well.

Common sense. That's really it. Don't be stupid and you'll be fine. Lots of cracked software and anime streaming sites will attempt to exploit your computer sooner or later. If you're smart and find better sources for your content, you won't ever have an issue.
There's no need for extra bloated firewall and other security software, as Windows can take care of itself just fine with the built-in firewall. I used to use AVG Free, but have been using Microsoft Security Essentials for a while now. I have it "just-in-case" something happens, but I never had either unexpectedly detect anything.
In fact, I sometimes disable my AV software and download trojans on purpose simply to upload them to antivirus sites like ClamAV and VirusTotal and Jotti so companies can add them to their virus definition files. (I don't recommend you do that unless you know what you're doing, however, as you might infect yourself that way)
