What is a good choice for an Anti Virus

Common sense.Well that aside I use avast and scan with malwarebytes every now and then, but since I'm really lax with my files I tend to just system restore if I do get something horrendous, which also should be added that you want to make backup points periodically as well.
And that's why people have lots of problems with viruses. Because not all have common sense sadly :| AVG Free is fine, although I think MSE is better.

Avast is very good
AVG is pretty good
Avira is ok
Norton is terrible
McAfee may as well be a virus itself

Got Megane?
I've been using Kaspersky for past few years, and haven't had any issues with it yet. A friend that worked at a computer/electronics store told me I should use it. So far no regrets.

As someone who cleans other people computers for a living, NOD32 + Malwarebytes is an extremely strong combination. I tend to avoid most free anti-viruses as I have seen every single beaten. Not to say that any one is unbeatable but from my many years of experience NOD32 and Malwarebytes can clean up very well after an infection.

I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials since yesterday.
I ran into a problem last night. I was downloading a segment of SaHa's batch torrent, and managed to get infected by a particularly nasty worm and trojan. Managed to get my USB drives infected where my computer wouldn't recognize their existence and the viruses managed to crash Avira everytime I attempted to quarantine and remove the infections.
It took me downloading MSE before I finally managed to quarantine and remove the two viruses. This incident coupled with Avira's bad business dealing of late, makes me not want to go back to Avira. I'll stick with MSE until I have reason not to stick.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
I switched from Avira to MSE myself, I'd say about a month ago now.
Honestly, I'd never had too much of a problem with Avira, but I'd just been hearing that MSE was quite reliable. Figured I'd give it a go, and it's been perfect thus far.

I've been battling whether I should use avast!, Kaspersky or regular AVG or any other for that matter. I need advice on what to get. (apologies if there is already a post similar to this made before)Microsoft Security Essential in conjunction with Avast works beautifully. I believe you can install both of them together without having conflicting operations.
In the off chance your computer slows down tremendously, just use avast. If your computer is before duo core then this might be the case.

I would recommend using
-Microsoft Security Essentials
-ClamWin
Both run smoothly and haven't had any problems with either so far, and been using ClamWin over year can't recall when I started using it.
Also using
-Spybot Search & Destroy
To get rid of some spyware if I should get any.

I use Avast! and COMODO Firewall paired together. Other good antiviruses are Kaspersky and BitDefender Total Security. For malware, Malwarebytes is a good choice. However, it may conflict with certain antivirus installed on your computer.
The best combination I suggest to you would be to use the free version of Avast! and COMODO Firewall or just Avast! Internet Security. Avast! Internet Security comes with a firewall so you won't have to install COMODO Firewall. Also, if you really want to, you can install Malwarebytes too. However, you might get an error if Malwarebytes decides to not cooperate with your antivirus.
If you decide to get Avast!, I advise you to also get the free site adviser application for your Internet browser. Along with that, you can also get an additional site adviser called WOT (Web of Trust). Both of these site advisers are based off of a database of user ratings (which is why I use two). If you use Firefox, get Ad-block Plus to get rid of every advertisement on websites (some hentai sites sometimes have advertisements that get past it though)!
In addition to site advisers and advertisement blockers (which help you prevent getting malware/spyware/adware from getting onto your computer), a certain registry cleaner I use that has a built in malware scanner is Advanced SystemCare by IOBit.
