What language(s) do you speak? =O

Only English... which sucks because I would really like to learn Japanese. Sadly they don't teach it at my school.

Namasensei.

I showed one of my friends that and he was amazed that after the Sa-So lesson, he was able to spell a word like sekai. :P

Yeah, learning hiragana is very gratifying! ^^
And I think namasensei does a great job teaching it. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these distinctive dialects of the Indonesian language? If it is, wow... Hats off to you, man. The Indonesian language alone is killing me. People say it's simple but I'm confused by the structure. Just asking for directions takes a lot of effort (and improvised sign language, heheh).

Ah well, lots of time to familiarize myself with it.

Yep, it really is. I guess because it's structurally different from the languages I'm familiar with.

PS. Is Banjarnese also a dialect/sub-language? If it is, what sets it apart from the others?

Makes me wonder, where do you live?

In Indonesia there's a lot of dialect/sub-language, mostly because we live separately on different islands. That's why, you could say, different island = different dialect/sub-language. I don't know about another sub-language, but even banjarnese itself is divided to a lot of dialects.

I'm currently residing in your capital city. Been here for almost half a year. The people are nice, food's good, lots of good looking girls... Not what I initially had in mind. (This is coming from an ignorant fool, so I hope I didn't offend you in any way, dude.)

Any suggestions on which Indonesian sub-language I should learn? (After I'm decent with the Indonesian language itself, of course.)

I speak english and norwegian fluently.

English, German, uh.. Kinda French? 6 years o that, but not enough to do it off the top of my head for an extended period of time. A depressingly small amount of Japanese. I'm going there to stay with my friend in Kyoto for the summer though, and he said you learn or you die so let's hope that goes well.
