Well I kept hard shutting down to turn my desktop computer off and I somehow managed to get food stuck onto the motherboard. Looooong time ago, Keeping my laptop in good condition now.
Had a hyundai 8080 and needed to format a floppy
Wasnt watching what is said and formatted the C drive
Yes it is possible to do that with a DOS machine
This happened back in the early 2ks, but somehow I was using the first Desktop we owned (we had upgraded and I kept the old one running Windows '95 for the games, Descent is an awesome game) annnnd Windows vanished. I had no internet (it was dial-up back then) and had only used software from legitimate companies. Turned it on, the desktop background came up and then about fifteen minutes later a message popped up: Windows cannot find windows.exe. Would you like to search for it?
...Yeah. To this day I have no idea what happened. On a "brighter" note, a week before Xmas a few years later I bought and installed a Sonic & Knuckles collection form Half Price Books onto that same machine. It started stuttering a bit with those games and others, so I gave it a ... love tap. Worked fine for a week aaannnnd then went FUBAR. And that Sonic & Knuckles stuff wouldn't run on our new Windows XP (or was it Windows ME?); it would only open in windowed mode and at stupidly fast speeds. :(
