I just typically use mechanical pencils for everything, be it writing or drawing.
Also, on a personal note, I finished Air Gear this week and i wanted to give it it's due props.

Black ball point pen... preferably gel or a nice ink... I refuse to use blue pens, cause I hate them for some reason. I use red before blue.

well ive been always using mechanical pencil (for school purposes) but i also like ballpoint pen but it depends on the band because i don't like the color saturation of other brands ^....,^

Mechanical pencils all the way! Unfortunately, I make too many mistakes in pen for it to be my primary writing utensil. And always sharpening a regular pencil is just a pain (I like the relatively constant precision given by a mechanical pencil).

Although I really love mechanical pencils, I just can't get over having to reload them. I drop the graphite lead everywhere. No. 2 pencils will always be my favorite. Kinda hard to drop lead when it's encased in octagonal wood.

Ball point pen definitely. I use it for just about anything sketching, homework, school work, and just writing in general. Used to be mechanical pencil though, either way it sucks to run out of lead or ink.

id like to say calligraphy brush just because it would make me sound more awesome but seeing how ive never held one let alone use one ill say mechanical pencil

I avoid writing if at all possible because of my carpal tunnel , but if i do i use a fountain pen.

I use just a regualr old pencil but thats only because my handwrtting sucks in pen or anything else for that matter. Probably becasue in Primary school we were only aloud aloud to write in pencil until our handwriting got better and then we would get a pen to write with. My handwriting just sucks either way :(

At school I used a ballpoint pen, but I really like the mechanical pen, it never needs to be sharpened (that's why they call it a sharp pen in Japanese, shaapu pen) :)
