Regular pencils. you can do almost anything with them and if they break, well that's why you have a nice sharp knife.

since its writing utensils, not for art purposes, a mechanical pencil is definitely my choice (with 0.5 lead). gives optimal sharpness in writing

When I have to write by hand, I prefer mechanical pencil. Cleaner lines than a pencil and no need to keep a sharpener, plus you can erase it unlike a pen. That said, I have dysgraphia and never write by hand if I can avoid it.

I prefer using a chisel and stone tablet, but I don't see it listed as a choice. I am disappointed.

hahahaha i love the classic normal pencil , never really liked using mech pencils , they always seem like a pain to reload , and i love the dulled regular pencil for shading :3 i draw allot

Mechanical pencils last longer than regular pencils and it allows for your mistakes to be erased. I think that should represent all of humanity!

I chosee the mecha pencil cause it makes it easier to have the details I like on my drawings and it's perfect for shading

Meh, I rarely ever use a mechanical pencil. Most of the time I write with a ball-point pen. When I'm drawing I use a pencil. So yeah, preferred writing utensil = Ballpoint pen.
