I definitely enjoyed the first one.
When the 2010 remake came out, I thought it was going to be horrible so I skipped out on it when it was in theaters. However, I watched it one day because it was being aired on television. Turns out, I actually enjoyed it.
On the side note, I really liked how Jackie Chan played his character out. It was definitely different from his normal performances. I never seen him so depressed-like and energy deprived throughout a film until I saw this movie. Interesting change for once.

Well Jackie Chan is a fairly decent actor, esp. if you've seen some of the movies he's played in before.(Asian released ones) Ntm, the guy can sing.

I am an insanely huge karate kid fan (it's so hard not to love such a sincere underdog story). While my logic dictates that the first film is in fact the better one (strong plot, introduction of fantastic characters, and the build up to the notable chemistry between Daniel and Miyagi -- not to mention the epic finishing move at the tournament!!!), there is just something so sweet about the second one as well. I remember having quite the crush on Kumiko as a young child watching the film.
