Who is the most famous person in the world?

Me and my friend had an argument about who's the most famous person in the world. Jesus is the first person that pops up in my mind since i know there are many Christians out there including myself. But my friend keeps on complaining that God is more famous than Jesus since God is know by everyone. God in a sense that it's either budha or allah or whoever people are worshiping it is still god.

As for who i think if the most famous person in the world...

Michael Jackson. To me he was (and still is) the most famous person in the world...next to jesus...

I'm not saying this out of any sense of nationalism, but I think the most famous person in the world is Barack Obama. Aside from the fact that he's the first black president of the US, when he was elected, internationally, it was a big fucking deal. Anyone who was elected after little Bush would've gotten a lot of attention from the entire world, but I think Obama brought a lot of extra attention upon himself through his campaign strategy.

i would say god just because there is a "god" for at least every religion, while jesus is limited to only a few religions.

Just like my friend. But the term god is to broad. Yes god maybe really famous to all religion but are there idea of what is god or what god look like the same? Of course not. So my vote is still for Jesus.

technically Ma Ying-jeou(president of china) if famous as in respected and not disliked which would be the most popularly disliked or infamous, because of china's 2.66 billion and rising population that HAVE to respect him but you can make a point for Catholics and all those other heretics that consider themselves christians, as there are about 2.2 billion of us in the world and everyone else who isnt a follower atleast knows the name Jesus Christ

yeah i see your point, tho god is known more there isn't really a clear picture people can see upon to describe him, while of course Jesus is more visual. i would say over all people know god more,while Jesus is more visually known.

Fair enough. However, those people wouldn't know any of the major figures on the world's stage, unless they were sponsoring organizations that provide aid to those countries.

The most well known person in the world...... definatly you'll have to look at history, but not too far back due to lack of education in many parts of the world. I'm going to go with.....Oprah.

And as for a serious answer..... possibly the current papal leader, or at least the position itself. Since individual leaders of nations can be well known, but not so much in other countries and I just answered myself.
