Woman Suffers Acid Attack

I saw her speaking this morning on HLC, she was even laughing at how she thought it was an act of god that made her want to buy sunglasses that day. She said she saw them and wanted to get them before the price went up. I think it's pretty amazing of what happened to her she could still smile and laugh at the bright side of things, she really didn't deserve whoever did that to her.
Unfortunately, if I were to be worried about going outside of having acid thrown in my face, I'd also have to worry about getting in a car accident, getting shot, stabbed, mugged, hurt, among many other things that could happen.
I hope they can do reconstructive surgery on her face, and afterwords she look amazing. I also hope the woman gets caught and sentenced for life.

If I did not remember wrongly, Hong Kong had its own recent spate of acid attacks too, just that it wasn't targeted at one specific person. Instead, acid was thrown from buildings into crowded places, causing numerous passer-bys to be hurt.
It would help if one is more aware of his/her surroundings, which allow greater time for action to be taken during an emergency. However, being overly uptight and worried could be detrimental too.

It's actually really horrible, but I don't think it'll happen often, really. I just have trouble understanding 'why' somebody would want to do that, regardless of their gender.

For the girls of FAKKU, does this scare you a little to think that you could just be walking outside on a normal day, and a stranger would throw acid on your face?
Actually...
I was sitting down at Sonic with some friends back in my high school days when this lady screamed from her car, "HEY! ALL YOU GODDAMN CHEERLEADERS ARE FUCKING SLUTS!" Obviously, since we were wearing our uniforms, we knew she was talking to us.
Then she threw what I though were water balloons at us and drove away. The manager (or shift leader guy) came out to see what was what. At first we were stunned at what happened and explained about our water balloon attacker. He then pointed out that, telling by the smell, the water balloons were actually filled with urine.
So in a sense, I have had acid thrown at me.

It is disturbing to know that there are nameless, random people who would hurt others to that extent. I wonder what motivates attackers like that. I hope she gets caught and is dealt with the full extent of the law. It's the least society can do for the victim.
On Topic: I have always been vigilant when I am outside and I only go out when necessary. It has to do with my hikikomori tendencies, no thanks to my own bad experience. Then again, there are somethings that are beyond our control...
