women win in arguments?

I like watching 2 women get "catty" almost as much as I like them kissing. Either way would be fun!

Oh lord, where the fuck did the word, "catty" come from? I've never heard anyone use that until this year. Also, I've rarely lost arguments to anyone, much less a woman.

They win because they take arguments all over and they never really stick to the issue at hand. Just something I learned from personal experience.

rhetoric is like a blade..... first its all sharp and shit like that but sooner or later it will lose its edge and be dull and boring (like 'same shit again?' feeling)..... so its never recommended to use it....

@neyapuckachinha: if philosophy is rampant here... so be it... but the idea of ultimate truth really doesnt suit my taste... dont tell me you have philo majors too....

also.... to boot, i really find it strange as the MEN are the first to explode after a talkdown between couples...... you never see women shouting but only being calm and listening to the other, only if it really goes ballistic..... if put literally.... its not the fuckin' "brain ninjas" (sorry Rbz.... watched him and boy that was stupid) but they KNOW how to maneuver around the minefield because they could detect the mine and evade it....

We let women think they won because we know we are superior so we just say "let them have this one...besides she'll be cooking my dinner in an hour"

Also women change topics way to much.

the bad thing of that thinking is that once you lower even a bit in your words.... they'll somehow bypass your defenses and stab you where you cant even see it

no, most of my arguments don't result in long discussion or debate irl. I am stubborn but mostly when it's something I am absolutely positive about; though I think we all make the mistake of turning opinion into fact sometimes.

I'm to important to myself and I like myself to much to let some women make me feel bad. I have been yelled at for not paying attention during an argument.

Eh? lol... no I don't have a major in philosophy but I did have to study a lot in high school...it's interesting though :D

I'm not fond of the idea of 'ultimate truth' myself, but it's an important part of classic philosophy so... lol...somehow we were just discussing the methods of argumentation and we ended up discussing general theories. Someone mentionned rhetorics, here's another method too...(well, not really, cause you can use rhetoric in every debate, as well as in speeches, and in dialectic too so it's not really a method in itself but basics I think...argh > < )

Actually, when i realized that the women in my life were doing things like that, i started to say completely irrational things in our arguments. They become confused, then i just walk away before they can figure out what i have done, and i just ignore whatever they were mad about. It works, and is hilarious.

also, can i join into this ongoing theoretical orgy?

i have to question the forms of rhetoric.... like i said.... its like a sharp blade that dulls quickly.... if you think that its an effective offense... well.... its up to your thoughts.... but a single rhetoric can be exploited and used against you.... im not sexist or anything like that.... but i find it amazing that MOST women who argue can use strike deep into a guy's chain of thinking.... it then can be said that you girls somehow KNOW when and where to strike..... and if i recall..... when engaged in a heated discussion.... you must attack the points that are questionable..... tear the lingering opinions from the facts (long ago i read that facts are not always absolute truth and in a sense question that fact and see if it is TRULY fact) the credibility of it......

@Zeker : I don't think it's inherent to the gender but people tend to use facts for their own purposes and present them as to give a certain perception.

Maybe a woman does it more naturally because she has to fight on another level than most men ( you know all the weak women crap) though I don't believe that. I really don't believe it's a gender thing, but more a social criteria. If you are raised by a woman (mother or sister) that has the tendency to know how to argue (cf what Zeker said) you are more inclined to do it naturally youself.
