Your opinion on Dark humour?

I absolutely love dark humor. It is my favorite genre of all time! I am a big fan of Bobcat Goldthwait's films, and also thoroughly enjoyed the original "Death at a Funeral". The comedian Louis C.K. is also hilarious, in my opinion. It helps that he is also ridiculously liberal. :P

I was raised on dark and morbid humour. It's awesome.

I basically agree with what everyone above me said.
There's really nothing you can't make jokes about, so long as it's well done (as in more funny than hateful) and avoided in certain circumstances. To each his own.
There was a bit of a scandal in the UK somewhat recently about a guy who put a (fairly tasteless) joke about some pedophile and his (recent) victim on his Facebook wall. But I don't really think he did anything wrong since he posted it on his own, personal page. Then some twat decided to make a screengrab and post it on the support wall for the victim. You can imagine the hurt...
Long story short, the original poster got arrested (slashdot).
Now I for one didn't find the joke funny, but I really don't think he should be arrested for it. The guy who copy-pasted the joke from his personal wall to a bloody support group on the other hand...
You can find the joke in the first comment on the link if you're curious, I'm not copying it. Wouldn't want to get arrested... for a joke...
Also, completely unrelated, here's a site with exclusively sick humor.

It's all good. Anyone who has older brothers probably spent most of his childhood laughing at things they should be.
My next door neighbour died abotu 3/4 years ago; when I found out he hit a tree in his car and shit everywhere, I nearly died, too.

Dark humour is entertaining most of the time. Even if it's offensive, I don't really mind as I'd laugh at any sorts of jokes , even the lamest puns.

Oh, and I have one more opinion about this: Dark humour is often so good BECAUSE its offensive I know, sounds horrible. But in many cases the jokes wouldnt really be funny if they werent so offensive. And I dont mean that people getting offended is funny, but the offensiveness kinda kives it some kind of "wow factor". Hard to explain, but I hope that at least some people understand what I mean :

i definitely know what you mean.
it's a shame that one of my online accquaintances doesn't, because when i "liked" a 9/11 joke on facebook it appeared on his newsfeed and he went on a massive rant about me in a status
(without mentioning my name, thankfully. he simply said "the person in question knows who he is".)
Soon there was a bandwagon of comments forming, eg "okay, who the fuck would be so disgusting?", "wow that's awful, fuck him in the ass with a fork", etc.
inside i'm just thinking
"um...dude? it was a joke, calm down. i know you lost someone in 9/11 and all, but you shouldn't play the victim at every opportunity and throw a tantrum over an inconsequential joke that wasn't even aimed at you."
i mean, seriously.
when it comes to reading comprehension, is it really that hard to seperate jokes from personal insults?
