that was a rather ignorant statement. As much as that is true, no amount of hatred would give the man the rights to rape somebody. And to top up on how ignorant that statement is, the article mentions it was done by doctors in south africa, do you even know what its like down there? Men believe women are trash, and they have the RIGHTS to rape them when they want to. <== exactly not what the statement mentioned.

South africa isnt the only country where men have that mentality. Bear that in mind.

I get that it can fuck a person up mentally something serious, but I would imagine when most people are pissed off, they're more interested in shedding blood than cumming.



I heard something like that a while back and it sounds just as irrational as it did then. I can understand where hatred or rage might factor into the equation, but unless I see some real statistics, there is no way I'll ever be convinced that the majority of rape cases are predicated by any desire other than the one to get off. Then again, the majority of rapes go unreported, so any related statistics are worth as much as a fresh pile of dogshit.



I guess it might be something women could consider, if they believe that rape is imminent. The problem is that its useless until the victim is being penetrated. I'm not a woman, but I have a feeling that if a rapist gets that far, pussy spikes aren't gonna do shit to lessen the emotional trauma, regardless of how much pain the asshole experiences.

Overall, I have to go with Flaser on this. Guns work wonders as rape deterrents. So do knives, but not as much as guns. The pussy trap might hurt whoever it catches, but even if the guy is forced to retreat after he breaks in, it still counts as rape. There's also the small matter of the pussy trap's success depending upon whether the rapist sees it or not.

In the greater scheme of things, I guess its alright. However, it just seems like it would be better to come up with ways to stop a rapist before he gets inside.

Bullshit, men getting raped is every bit as serious as women getting raped. Equal rights means equal everything. Either that or all these women need to get the fuck back in the kitchen.

lol I have reading about the Rape-aXe condom, and I think it is a terrible idea. On one hand, since it is stated that rape is mostly motivated by hate or the need for domination over the victim, it may further aggravate the rapist and can jeopardize the victim ie: he may get more violent can it can end with blood. This is especially true if there are multiple rapists.

In my opinion, I think there are more practical ways for women to prevent rape instead of relying on a device that can put the user in potential danger. I have a friend who takes Krav Maga classes and it worked pretty well for her as a rape deterrent.

On the other hand, owing to me being a cynic, this device can be used the other way round. With a device like that, it can be possible for women to use it for malicious purposes as well. With the law here in my country Singapore (it does not have a jury and simply follows the book), I think it is a wonderful way to get a man convicted for attempted rape. Just my opinion.

I agree with this in so many regards. But while this might sound sick and wrong... for many women in the countries where this device is meant to be used, a beating might be less severe than becoming pregnant or getting an STD. Unless of course it results in death... again, not a good option either.
Still, one should NEVER have to be faced with such a choice... :(

If they tried to distribute this kind of condom in well developed societies, it wouldn't work because as many users have pointed out, there are much better methods of prevention already available. Take a look at where this is being implemented though. Do you really think that women there have the kind of resources available for formal self defense classes? Will the majority of women there have access to guns? No, for a society that still struggles with women's rights, these options aren't as feasible as we may think them to be.

Rape-aXe isn't the answer to stopping rape, I agree. There is the possibility that it could backfire and work against the victim, I agree. But if this can help even just one person, I see that as a success. What's wrong with expanding the array of options people have there in preventing the trauma that comes with rape? If someone doesn't see this as helpful, they don't have to use it.

Like anything, there are benefits and disadvantages to the product.

It would probably be effective. I'm sorry, but rage will be the last thing on a guys mind if he is feeling severe pain on his penis. And since raping is about dominance, there will be no masochistic type men doing it so you don't have to worry about that aspect.

I'm sure there will be rage much later, but by then the woman should have already escaped.

Disadvantages? It assumes the guy is already entering the woman.

It is also ineffective if they examine her beforehand. So the only type of rape this would probably apply to is sudden random type of rape. Which makes up the least amount.

Personally, a woman is better off keeping self defense items and not traveling by herself as rape prevention.

Good topic. Anti-rape equals less unneeded and unwanted physical and emotional trauma on women. Less unwanted pregnancies from rape victims too. Yeah there are much better ways to prevent it, but it's at least an attempt to help.

Hey I like what you said the best. They should should make something to keep away from the area there trying to protect like those taser guns or whatever else. And how come no one factored in that even if you wear it you might never be raped? How about the likely chance that if you didnt wanna to wear it the day you get raped? Its not the like the rapist is gonna give you a minute to put it on? o.O Overall I dont like the idea of this thing.
