Are you concerned about global warming ?

There are two topics going on here.
Global Warming and Polluting the planet. But are they really related?
I found a video of a guy giving a presentation about global warming, mostly a replay to Gore's An Inconvenient Truth.
It's video length, just don't let the first 5 mins throw you off, and if you can't take the singing, skip to 1:55.
Apocolyps? No!

Really is worth the watch.

I came across something when I was researching the matter of what 2012 has to do with anything. Currently we are in, well the sun is, what is called a solar minimum. Sparing the headache that comes with detail, the solar cycle has an influence on Earth's ozone layer. During a solar minimum, there is a decrease in the concentration of ozone. Conversely, which is obvious, during a solar maximum there is an increase in the concentration of ozone. Coincidentally, the projected period of time when the next solar maximum occurs is within 2010-2012. I'm not going on unfounded prophecies, this is some straight up NASA shit, or something close to it.
Provided that I haven't exactly given myself a sound foundation in science and shit, I can't say shit for sure. I'm just using some of my "precious" time to inform others about what my wisdom related adventures have revealed to me.

Not. A. Bit. Personally, I think the idea of global warming is hillarious, because nobody really questions it, even when there is a plethora of worthwhile evidence that concludes that global warming is simply a logical fallasy. It's been really profitable for energy companies, and allows the government to save up more money for there own pockets. Damn you, Al Gore![size=12] [/h]

yea im worried about global warming and i try to do things the green way. I don't think enough people care that much because they think that they won't live long enough to see the effects, but the effects are already taking place!

i need to all ask you do you concerned about global warming ? because every day more 0.005% of the ice melts away and then if this keep up all the green house gas will be released from the ocean, and we all be poisoned by the gas from the ocean.what your suggestions about this problem .Not to sound like a cynic, but it wont affect any of us.........................

It's not only about the end of the the human specy and the global warming. Do you prefer breath fresh air or highly carboned stinking air? Do you want more allergies and asthma? Do you want to be the last mammal specy on the earth excepted dog, cats, pigs and cows?
So it's not all to watch at our feet and at the horizon, there is an in-between.
Living green is easy and comfortable once it's in place, the difficulty is in the massive structural changes needed to do so. It's why as already stated it's far easier for the rich people.

Nope! I'm more concerned about MAN-BEAR-PIIIIIG! I'm kidding but in all seriousness I am kinda worried, but its not like anything large scale is gonna happen to reduce it.

The earth goes through cycles. It gets cold, and everything freezes. For thousands of years. Then it gets warm, and everything melts. For thousands of fucking years.
In a word: No.

I personally think the issue of global climate change (as I absolutely refuse to call it global warming, as that's a completely incorrect name) is one that is way too often not understood correctly by both sides. Yes, we are currently going through a natural warming of the planet: the problem is not that pollution creates the warming, it's that it accelerates the warming. Yes, it would have naturally gotten that warm, but over a course of way more years, and if it continues this fast we may not have the time to adapt we would normally have. At least, that's how I understand it, I could be just as wrong.
Also, even if global warming isn't caused by humans, give me one good reason why that's a good reason to screw up the environment. "It wasn't me, that guy killed someone" doesn't give you the right to kill someone yourself, even if it was that other guy who killed someone.

Curious and Wondering
Simply put, global warming is a global concern. And I'm concerned as well.

Global Warming? Bah.
By the time we reach a point where Global Warming will kill us, we'll have created another 20-30 generations.
We, on the planet now, will be GONE, and BY THEN they will definitely have the technology to combat it.
20 years ago, we could never have DREAMED of the technology we have now.
Just think 500 years from now...

I try to do my share to stop it/at least slow it down, but I have to admit: I'm probably dead when the real consequences hit mankind, so I'm not quite that afraid of global warming tbh. At least not now anyway.
As said before in the thread, it is quite simple to live a little "greener" so to speak. I think everyone should at least put some though into it.

People can believe in one thing and not believe in another. It's called opinion.

Well, I wasn't totally serious about the statement I made, but I WAS grouping them with idiots. It's like this. You talk to someone who doesn't believe in global warming. You ask them how? The facts add up. The science is there. There are people studying it as we argue. There is even film proving it.
Now, let me ask you this. How do those facts make people who deny the lunar landing, or any of the landings after it different from people who think global warming is a hoax?
Also, with your last statement, I do concur with the fact that it is an opinion at this point. But, when people start to believe their own shit (for example: Ocean sea levels rising is a natural process) is when the shit really starts happening.

I believe it. Now as to the intensity of how much of a problem it is, that's different. Im pretty sure I live close enough to the shore that if the ice caps melted, Id be screwed. So yeah, go stop those cpc emissions from hair spray bottles or w/e. But really if it amounts to a huge problem I'm just going to relocate to a place where it doesnt bother me. Ill admit im completely uneducated about this topic, but I probably wouldn't care much more if an immediate threat such as... nukes in orbit became a reality.
