this is a fucking great topic.nice one,EdwardRoss.
rep for you later.
ok,so islam happened to be my religion.
i'm not good with words like penguin, but i'll try to make my point here.
i agree with omnicide.it's all bullshit.the whole political correctness law is bullshit.it grants the extremists room to act as they like, doing what they call "justice".and who is the victim?
1.the non-muslim society, because this law makes the "suspicious" activity and "Jihad" even more easier to do and the non-muslim society couldn't do anything about it.
2.the non-extremist muslim(and islam itself),because what the extremist do tarnished islam's own reputation as a peace-loving religion.
@penguin
i hope you won't hate islam the religion itself, because peace-loving muslim like me is in no way justify what the extremists do and say.
i speak out against the violence.i'm tired of the pointless religion killing.
and we are helpless, because we want to stand against the extremist badly, but if we peaceful muslim did speak out,we and our whole extended family will be targeted by the extremist,so please understand.
@EdwardRoss
not the majority of muslim hate "infidels" just like you stated.maybe the majority of muslim who live in your country did.but i can assure you this:the majority of indonesian(the country which have the biggest population of islam in the world)is against those kind of acts.
but you are right, there's a phrase in the "holy" Koran that said:"kill all infidels without mercy".but there is also a phrase that stated "christianity and all other religions are your best friend".
i believe that all of this is caused by a bunch of muslim who misinterpret the "infidels" stated in the Koran as westerners.
and please,by all means, don't go out there and say that islam are a bad religion and most muslim are terrorist and wants to banish westerners.it's hurting me as a peaceful muslim who didn't do anything you guys stated above.
please hate the person(in this case, the extremists),not the religion.

Nicely put mnx.

mnx your correct most religions have some genocidal text but Christians learned long ago that killing people for being different is wrong. don't forget though Muslims Governments in the middle east take religion much more seriously than you think. My grand parents used to go there every summer but for the last few years it has been much to violent. The last time they went there was trouble and they are to afraid to go back. this whole thing frustrates me to no end. I call a person who declares jihad on me the enemy but the people in my country call me a racist. That to irritates me to the point of violence.
edit: the only bad religion is scientology (cult)

I already had a dislike for certain religions long before all of this. Do I dislike the people who practice the religion? No, there are several groups is dislike for the methods they use in their "practices" Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints (FLDS), Westboro Baptist Church (Youtube Shirley Phelps-Roper), Radical Muslims, etc.
As long as religious laws take effect after the laws of the land and only apply to those who choose to follow the religion then I am fine.

I agree, Anyone who tells me I should die because I don't follow the same religion is the enemy, and will terminated with extreme prejudice. And if this gets me labeled a racist, so be it. I know I'm not, racism is an outdated mindset; there's no such thing as genetic superiority.
Scientology isn't a "bad" religion per say, but it is pretty stupid imo.
@mnx: No one is implying all Muslims have declared jihad on the rest of the world.

That to irritates me to the point of violence.and yes, you're right, the muslim government in the middle east is taking religion too seriously, but that's partly because of the phrase written on the Koran : "this book shall became the rules of your country".
and they just take the rule for granted without much thinking that the rules is only for their country, not for others' country(england or france, for instance).see? :)
don't worry,i hate persons who declares jihad too,but i'm lucky that i live in a country where most(not all)people won't call me racist for that.
and sorry for the inconvenience my fellow muslim had caused your grandparents. :)

Well, if a religion can't take criticism it just shows, that it, I would like to say fails, but I'll rather use the wording of "goes the wrong way". The problem of the Islam is that it was developed for a small band of Bedouins, rather than a large part of the world and with quite a different spirit in time. Thus instead of leading, it is misleading right now... well that is at least my opinion as 80% atheist and 20% christian :P

80% atheist and 20% christian :PSo your a living contradiction? :P (realize I am not being serious in way shape or form).
The problem with Islam (or any religion for that matter) is that when something is (Left up to interpretation) it only leads to problems. Some Muslims are very relaxed in their interpretations while others will cut your head off because your beard isn't long enough. Even Christians have their fanatics (Shirley Phelps-Roper) but, most Christians are rather quiet and docile about their religion. They have a few topics here and there (Separation of Church and state, abortions, etc) that they care about but, other than that their religion and the state doesn't really become one in the same.

Free speech is going down the toilet as we speak. I'm really fearing for the future when I'll get arrested for criticizing my neighbors lawn.

Don't give them any ideas! :P
As for my 80% atheist and 20% christian, it is more due to the fact that I don't believe most of the things in the bible, but the thing I am asking myself is how did the big bang come to be and from where came the mass before that? :P
And if there was an entity that created it, was it "god" or a "high level entity" that defined physics somehow different than us...
Anyways, back on the topic, I think the Islam is taking a LARGE amount of bonus rights for them on the pretend that they get targeted because of terrorism. I am sure you had the debate over the danish caricatures aswell.

when it comes to religion you should keep it between yourself and your god or at least with people with the same faith as you, and don't let your religion's teaching cause problems and especially takes life of other people :roll:

I think banning criticism in anyway is complete and utter bullshit.Being the lazy ass I am, I haven't looked at the article, the video or most of the posts made in this thread.
But just from what the title says and your first post.."BULL FUCKING SHIT"
Criticism is a personal right, if I don't like you and I think your hair looks werid, I will think so. If I'm a douchebag, I would come up to you and say "Man, yo hair is fucked up bro." but that's my own personal issue.
Islam can fuck themselves, quit being such a fucking pussy to the point you have to get your government to band criticism, what the fuck is that shit?
Sorry for my language, but what is the whole point? Its like the White-Black thing in America. We know racists exists, what do we do? Nothing. Nobody cares. That's been abolished a long time ago. What we have now is personal belief.
Meh, I'll go read the article sometime later and read over the rest of ya'lls post and actually write something here that has to do with Islam and the whole UK thing with Islam.
There were so many good comments out there, but I have to say Illumi's was the best. XD
I'm not saying I don't like the Muslims but I don't like the religion. mnx brings up a point that there are people opposed to the idea of extremism, but the religion drives people to be extremists.
The fact that the very same Muslims' that hate foreigners's for their difference want the foreigners to kindly bypass their differences pisses me off. I really agree with EdwardRoss on the fact that your own countryman call you "racist" for not liking the religion (Even though it's not even a race) and they disregard the fact that most of them hate our fucking guts.
@Gizmo
That's a good point you bring up. Some of the founding fathers of America really pushed for a separation of the church and government for issues such as these...

but they forgot to read this:

what's this means?
the extremists mistook christianity(and other religion) as their enemy.
so it's not Koran's(and islam's) fault that it's became like this.
it's the extremists' fault.
i don't blame you if i hate islam though, considering what my fellow muslim did.
but you're hatin' the wrong thing.
just like i said, hate the person, not the religion.
attack the person,not the religion.
capiche?

Well, I wasn't only looking at those parts that seem to contradict itself. I was also looking at the punishments written in the Qu'ran for the evil deeds, and the complete inequality of women...
