Censored Sprite Ad...

Nice Idea...i think...
But Imagine the answers you need to give to the kids watching this...
"Er...Well The man has a problem trying to open that sprite bottle"
"Why Use her mouth to open it? Er....Well they might have broke their bottle cap opener..."

Serious Discussion? Seriously?
Yeah wow, personally I don't care, but you really can't expose children to those kind of innuendos. Maybe if the only aired it on cable television after midnight. :P
I kinda wanna Sprite. <.<

Ah hahaha.
That is over the top. Not even innuendo, just straight pornographic advertisment. I laughed watching it but, if your not going to censor that, what are you going to censor.
But like they said the question always arises, when you censor something, why are you censoring it? I'd censor it not for the kids, but just cause I don't want to be watching tv and when it cuts to commercial I sit through a short soft porn video.
Plus thats gross tsurayu. Why would you say you want sprite? why would you even say that, thats just gross...
I don't know why you even had to say that.

No surprise the censor assholes jumped on it.

I dunno Rbz, I kinda have to disagree. It's like the clip said, there was no innuendo. It was just some girl blowing a guy. I don't even find it really entertaining.
I mean, if I want to watch a girl blow a guy, I'll just turn on my internet, I don't need a sprite bottle in my way.
I don't even really care about the kids, because the kids who watch it will either completely go over their heads, or the other ones who are old enough will understand what just happened.
I think commercials are getting too happy with 'sex sells' if anything that ad kind of turned me off from Sprite now. That last scene with her mouth was gross.
I'm all for giving oral, but I don't need bukkake in my face.
Sprite's not all that great anyway. It's caffeine free, hardly has any taste, etc.

There are no puzzle pieces to put together here to find out that I want this on T.V.

Censorship doesn't always mean you have to blur out something.
Censorship can be anything as minimal to bleeping out a word, or to completely remove the commercial all together.
This never aired for the Superbowl simply due to the level of sexuality for the time of day that it would be aired. Imo though - it was more to do with Peta in general. While everyones eating their chilly dogs and burgers having a good time, Peta will come in and tell you that you're fat, boring, and lousy in bed.

That's fine. O.o; I was just disagreeing with you that I did not like this commercial.

This one leaves me at a PERSONAL IMPASSE. Whom should I hate more, censorship or advertisements? Woooooooow. Whelp, I guess in the end I still hate censorship more.
The ad itself was, well, an ad. The typical tired shit despairing coke-for-brains in the ad agency come up with 5 mins before the deadline hits. Its only redeeming quality was the ultra-german

Auf Wiedersehen Herr Muller!
That's also what I'd tell the kids, by the by!

That should answer your question.

Curious and Wondering
That ad was the shit. I mean, I definitely can't show it to kids. And there's no logical reason as to how the guy's having pleasure with something so ostensible as a Sprite bottle between his legs and a woman's opening it with her mouth. Nothing to censor there, legally, but it was way over the top. Leave it to the German censorship department to let this one slip.
But it's German Sprite. Whatever floats their uber-boats. Just don't air it as an ad in Asia or America and we'll be fine with it.
Now I'll have to go and grab a cold Sprite can from the fridge.

And yet the EU banned lolicon, and in Germany they're so Nazi-sensitive that model aircraft kits (such as a ME-262 or BF-109) cannot have the swastikas printed on the decal sheets.

I disliked the commercial as nothing more than shock value in order to sell the product.
As for censoring it, I can't agree with that, Though it is in poor taste that is the flip side to having the freedom of speech. Sometimes people just aren't subtle when they speak.

Also freedom of speech doesn't mean you can just spout out whatever you want too either.
I just don't want to have to watch it if I was watching tv with friends or family. It's just bad taste, makes me think sprite bottles are penises, and is a little gross.

I would have to disagree, you do have the right to say whatever you want. Society expects a little bit of grace even when you do say or express controversial ideas but, its not required. It's really a personal responsibility when using the freedom of speech. If you dislike Sprite's commercial then feel free to do some direct action.

First this ad was stupid, I like freedom of speech and everything, but this is going a little far. Now while I would never censor it completely, I would give it a time slot like from 11pm to 5am so small children wouldn't see it.
I agree that it doesn’t do anything that would warrant free speech being taken away, like inciting violence or anything. Though a set time to avoid small children I think is a good way to ensure commercials don’t get totally out of hand.

Yeah, a set time viewing is a good idea, because that's what they do for girls gone wild commercials. They show them like at midnight so that no children would watch them

I have a problem with censorship in general. I believe that parents should exercise discresion in what their children watch. The network is not responsible for what happens to children.
As a buisness, entertainment companies are forced to change thier programming to match demand. I can't see a standing reason to prohibit broadcasters from certain topics, themes, and content.
Over time, all niches will become filled, and parents can just flip to the family friendly channels. This allows for more varied programming, and better buisness (since companies compete for different viewers, rather than putting out the same crap as everyone else)

Well that assumes that a parent will sit there the entire time that a child is watching Tv. And that the child doesn't watch Tv without a parents permission.

That's too idealistic. You are limited. You can't go around saying "I'm going to assassinate the President" to a Secret Service individual a not expect to be taken into custody.
Freedom of Speech does not include libel.
