At one time I did act differently from how I do online. I used to be afraid of how people would act if they knew what I enjoyed and how I really was. Eventually I quit caring and decided that my family wouldn't care and my real friends wouldn't. Most people just said whatever and accepted it. The people who did act differently towards me were those who weren't my friends to begin with.

I feel a lot more comfortable when I'm talking to someone online than when i talk to someone in real life. You have more time to think about what you are going to say or ask when you are online. In real life you have to react almost immeadiately.

Yes~ Online gives you the space to be a bit more free. You're not limited by location, social status, complex interpersonal politics you have to deal with endlessly... and far fewer people judge you for your horribly nasty kinks ^^

Of course, didn't read the other post, but most probably do. It's easier and you can make you're own persona. You can leave and come back at anytime, No Strings Attached. Amiright? You leave and someone takes your place quite simple.

It's also easier because, is there any emotional attachment to people here? Will I try to impress them, probably. Not to mention most don't know how you look so you don't need to worry about associating your memory with a bad image. I will say I applaud and worry for those who have to be themselves. It's not easy. As for me, I'll be as I feel true or not, doesn't matter. Because, I always need to learn.

When I'm online I act the same in real life because I tend to be quite and keep to myself and do the same online because you are still having an effect on the people you interact with. But when I'm by myself I become a whole different person that sometimes I say do things that I'm even shocked about

Not really. I admit that I sometimes sound way too... formal when I talk online, but I think that's only because English is not my main language. And since I try to avoid typos and shit, it makes it worse haha. But other than that, nope, I'm myself.

I don't think so.

The things I talk about online vs offline may vary slightly, but I try to act the same as I do offline. That means when I go online, I don't troll, or hate post, or attack other individuals, because I know that in real life I would do none of the sort. I understand that being online for others helps them come out of their shell and relax, which I kind of was at the beginning, but now, I am comfortable to at least listen to other opinions, no matter if they're right or wrong, voice my opinion, and tolerate those who don't want others to enjoy their time. It's a different learning experience for all of us, and I just happen to act the same way as I do offline...to a certain degree.

I feel for me it's not so much as I am different in rl compared to online but rather I like the people and friends I know online better than the ones in rl thus I'm happier and more comfortable to act how I feel inside rather than be as reserved and on guard as I would say if I went to some party at an aquaintance's house. I feel reluctant/hesitant to really open up to lots of people in rl. But I have in the past and I usually turn into a cackling idiot just like I am online

I definitely act differently online compared to reality. In reality I'm very antisocial, stoic, and I actively avoid speaking any more than necessary. However, when I'm online I am much more friendly and have a better sense of humor when dealing with other people. Sometimes I intentionally try to annoy people or act perverted for my own amusement, which I would never do in real life.

I think I act differently because I'm pretty invisible in real life. If I acted the same way online as I do in real life, I would remain invisible to everyone, lack any kind of presence, and my life would be extremely boring.

i think i act the same, im not one to put up a front or wear a mask, im a jerk, im a friend, im awesome, im terrible. It all depends on whats going on, it doesnt matter if its with friends in real life, or online. I am me, and i never try to be anyone else. unless im role playing, then im whoever

Nope. Same behaviour as always, why be someone you aren't?

I have the same thoughts and would say the same things I would online and in real life but I engage more online.

When I get into deep topics and deep thinking, I am able to express it more online, share it, and meet on common grounds better online than in real life.

If I talked about what I talked about online in real life, I would only be looked at strangely (which has happened quite a few times) and/or ignored (which has happened as well).

It's not that what I talk about is horrible things or absolutely perverted conversation, but I guess I feel understood, accepted, and heard more online so I'm more excited, ambitious, and talkative online.

I'm able to be more true to myself online than in real life and I'm pretty happy about that. I'm can't seem to form conversation as well when I talk to people face to face.

My thoughts and words are the same, but the circumstances are different.. so I guess what I chose for the poll was "not sure."

Shrugs.

Honestly I can't give a straight answer. I know this is late but I found this topic especially interesting. When I'm online I like to type how I talk...but I admit there are certain things I do that I probably wouldn't do offline. Like I wouldn't be open about my opinions with people I don't know as well. Sometimes I find it weird but I feel at lot more at ease with speaking with unknown people on the internet because we aren't physically in front of each other (if that makes any lick of sense).
