The fact that my little white lady neighbor has the ability to blow my fucking head off does not comfort me. I want intensive training for a gun license. It should be hard as fuck to get one.

What purpose does that serve? Statistically, anyone who ones a legally acquired gun is less likely to use it in a situation that doesn't call for it. Good citizens don't threaten people with guns unless they themselves are threatened. You know that drug dealer down the street? Guess where he got his guns? It wasn't through legal channels. Anyone who commits a crime with a gun usually bought a stolen gun or smuggled one into the country.

If you (or anyone) do/does something to get shot by that little white lady. You (or they) probably were doing some shenanigans you shouldn't have.

The same woman I was speaking of pointed her fucking sawed off shotgun at me while I was taking out the FUCKING TRASH. Besides the fact the father of one of my friends carries a gun in his person at all points in time. Has a collection a various rifles each for a specific function (duck hunting, deer hunting,etc) in a cabinet in the spare room. My father has owned a few hand guns in his lifetime. Several times when I was younger he took me to a local firing range to teach me proper basic use of a gun. I vaguely know how to maintain a "typical" hand gun. I couldn't tell you the model of a gun or the caliber it would use by looking at it but, I have the knowledge I need at the moment. When I get around to buying my own gun I would be more than happy to take a picture for you.

Let's not forget to mention that the boss of a previous job kept a hunting rifle on the floor board of his work truck since he usually went hunting after work.

The lady was more than likely out of line but, the error of a few shouldn't be the cause of removing a constitutional right. You seem like the kind of idiot I wouldn't want holding a gun. I think the system we've got now is pretty good and I agree with pretty much everything Fiery_penguin_of_doom has said.

We do, but there is always a general outline to go off of and I agree with that guideline and whatever the people do from there is fine with me since if a person really wants to kill someone, they will find a way to kill someone even without the gun. The right to bear arms is just a way for those would be victims to get their hands on a projectile weapons to protect themselves from future dangers.

The laws are universal around the country but some are more relaxed than others. On the federal level you have the waiting periods, the background checks, etc. A good rule of thumb is the more republican the state is the more lax the gun control is on the state level and the more liberal the state is the tighter the control is. Like in Washington D.C. hand guns were banned completely with the exception of security officers and police. The ban was deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court and lifted it earlier this year.

If you want an reason against gun control then go back and read my original post. There are A LOT more reasons against gun control than your pussy ass fear of your neighbor. If you were innocent while taking out the trash then there is absolutely no reason for her to have pulled a gun. Which leads me to believe you weren't so "innocent". Now, I'll believe you and assume you were innocent (innocent until proven guilty in a court of law) then you honestly should have just called the cops and reported that you had a shotgun pointed at you. Which by the way it is illegal to be in possession of a "sawed off" shotgun in most states. That should have settled the problem then and there.

The Soviet Union in October 1918, the Council of People's Commissars (the government) ordered the surrender of all firearms, ammunition, and sabres. Which was in retaliation to the Vladimir Lennin assassination attempt. A 1925 law made unauthorized possession of a firearm punishable by three months of hard labor, plus a fine of 300 rubles. Stalins only contributions were a 1935 law making illegal carrying of a knife punishable by five years in prison and a decree of that same year extending "all penalties, including death, down to twelve-year-old children." During 1929-1953 20 million people were killed. Mostly anti-stalin and anti-communists.

Germany instituted gun control in 1928 and 1938 when the Nazi party updated the original law

The major German gun control law (which was not replaced by the Nazis until 1938) was enacted by a center-right government in 1928. The law required a permit to acquire a gun or ammunition and a permit to carry a firearm. Firearm and ammunition dealers were required to obtain permits to sell and to keep a register of their sales. Also, persons who owned guns that did not have a serial number were ordered to have the dealer or manufacturer stamp a serial number on them. I think what we should do is melt down all the guns in the world and make a shitload of big ass fucking things to stimulate the world's economy. Now I know, realistically, it isn't possible, but it would solve the problem if we could somehow get it done.

in a perfect world, everyone who owned a gun would be intelligent, have taken classes and not be a psycho. Unfortunately we live here on earth where gangs and bumfucks have guns, knowing only point and trigger.

You know about a year ago i might have agreed with gun control but about three months ago somebody tried to break into my house. I took out my shot gun that was under my bed and went into the living room and found a guy trying to steal my T.V set. I shot him in the back and he ran off through the kitchen door. The police caught him about an hour later at the park crying over the shot i put in him. (for those wandering why he didn't die its because i had rock salt shells my friend and i use them on snakes at his ranch)

I bet that hurt like a bitch! It doesn't really kill anything but, its a hell of a warning shot.
