Internet pornography destroying men's ability to perform?
0
If you think it doesn't effect your desires if you watched too much porn try masturbating with out porn you can't get it up like you used to before you found porn.
For me just thinking about sex used to set me off now I get nothing.
But this is probally the reason..
(Though I never got why people watch it and don't masturbate the thought doesn't cross through my mind)
For me just thinking about sex used to set me off now I get nothing.

So the issue is NOT really Internet pornography but rather masturbating everyday

Yeah I believe ya in that one....Masturbating everyday does really kill a mans performance....
What is your definition of performance?
Endurance....
getting the blood flow to stay in the penis....
excessive masturbation sometimes leads to the penis holding up an erection for a short time and not a long time
and since porn plays a psychological role in this... sends the penis a weak signal meaning it will not be HOT like it used to be than 3 days ago ( example)....
So in a way internet porn is like a psychological issue and masturbation is kinda like a physical issue and when you have both issues at once then chances are performances are gonna decrease over the months or years........

Oh, that's interesting. For me, it just takes longer to ejaculate when I have fapped beforehand, in other words: increasing endurance. That's what most guys I have spoken to about the issue seem to agree on. In fact, it's common practice to fap 1-2 hours before you have sex, just for the reason aforementioned.
What you describe just seems like erectile dysfunction (which no one can really be blamed for), or being 'unattracted' to ones' mate.

erectile dysfunction is a good term since a lot of men have them.....
I never experienced that to masturbate before the actual intercourse ( just heard that) but its also true since you warmed yourself up before the actual event...
but the psychological influence is kinda the issue here....
scientifically speaking ( hate using that term UGH)
If the brain doesn't perform what the body wants then the body wont perform as well...
like our good friend who mentioned it influences people to imagine our ideal photo-shopped porno star and that ideal sets us REALLY off and any girl who doesn't meet our standards than we wont get a proper sexual performance...
Porn and hentai ( sorry my fellow Fakku-ers) is a MAJOR issue when people take this matter lightly since it can easily influence a person perspective on how things are done and what their ideal sexual life should be...
long story short... people get lost in a world of fantasy and don't find their way back.

This makes no sense to me. how could porn even come close to real sex? there is no comparison. my hand and some images...or...the sight, sound, smell, taste, and feel of another person. thats like saying you'd rather watch a cooking show and eat crackers than heve a feast.

Psychological problems IS the biggest problem when it comes to porn.....
People watch porn for a long time without realizing that their sense of judgement and expectations on people have been slowly but surely influenced by porn and other related stuff that encourages the human mind to ONLY want THIS and THAT....
It's like a commercial on TV, they bring up the commercial from McDonalds and say how it's delicious and yummy and people get influenced by such things and changed from home cooking to fast foods in a period of time..
Same goes for porn, they sell ideas to the human mind on how people should change their minds and ONLY want Pornstar quality chicks instead of an average chick with b-cup size breasts ( I like all sorts of girls because im a guy XD)....
saying how Men bring out their BEST GUNS for HOT CHICKS and how men DON'T want to unleash their full potential on an average women unless she possesses the quality of a porn star....
I learned about psychology so that's why I can fully understand these things and all I can say is that the human mind can in FACT be manipulated either with POWER ( Meaning sending a strong message to the human mind) or with Patience ( Meaning changing the human mind in a long period of time and thus almost permanently changing the human mind.....)
It's a sad but true fact...

In this case, that would only work if a person already has a history with McDonalds. You may as well say that if you flash the words "You want to be gay" in some persons face for long enough they'll turn gay. Not how it works. Advertising generally puts the word out about your product. There are other factors, but you get the point.

First off, where are the sources to any actual study for that? You keep saying it, but give neither reason nor empirical evidence.
Secondly, out of pure experience, I can say that's pretty wrong. I watch quite a bit of hentai, but I'm not really sure I'd like it if my partner was suddenly 2D. On top of that, there are many aspects to sex, and partnership than just an image.
Now, lets go deeper. I ask, what qualities do porn stars have and why do they have them?
This is a very simple question to answer. Porn stars generally have nice curves and large breasts. Well, that was obvious. Now, we answer why. Why would the industry only want women with good qualities? Because that's what men already want. Men already have a natural fixation on good qualities in women, it's already engraved in our bodies. We all want the best mate.
Saying that porn will make you want only one thing is ridiculous. Even within porn itself, you can take note that people often view a wide variety of pornography. That alone is enough to show the invalidity of saying it fixates a mind to one thing.
In some cases it does though! That is true, in some cases. But in the majority of cases, it will just give unrealistic expectations to inexperienced people.

I think you misunderstand the whole thing I wrote....
It wasn't an insult but rather something I said because I fully understand it on my account.. I didn't have the intention of insulting others who lack less knowledge than I do in some stuff....
I only set the commercial on this post as an example.....
What we see or hear DOES in fact influence us either in a big way or a small way..
You don't need to have a history with something to already be influenced by it because these things attract new minds as well... don't need more to explain...
About sources?
Pick one.. there are hundreds and thousands of articles and videos regarding to human psychology and how the environment can influence our minds....
A father is smoking a cigarette and his son looks at it,, more likely he will pick up the habit of smoking based on the actions his father took and that it "Subconsciously" influenced his son.... These sources date back in the 90s, so pick a timeline and read about it.. im not your agent who gathers infos for ya....
Back then Men and Women mated and haven't had much expectations from each other on what they should be.... This only started back then when "Looks" started to matter and positioned themselves an a sort of idol, a symbol that men should strive for and that ambition is exactly the same.... just in a pornographic way....
Ok so what if you love hentai and you don't get influenced by it...
Here is one info.. not everybody is like you....
and we're not talking about hentai here, we're talking about REAL PORN ( even though I did mention hentai) and that REAL PORN does INDEED influence a large number of peoples minds...
So when you mentioned "Bullshit"... did you actually think you were actually right?
I advise you read each and every sentence carefully and rethink about how you can counter my argument...
because i'm not writing stuff here to prove a point to you....
The smartest way of countering an argument is by laying your facts on the table that proves that my facts are nothing but a load of bull...
If you can lay out the facts that your theory is more factual than mine then I will give you a rep+
And keep in mind we're talking about millions here and not a few porn lovers...

This makes some various presumptions. First, in this, it's a young lad being influenced by his father. Children are very influenced by their environment and even more so their parents. But that's hardly a good example, since we're talking about grown men. The required age is 18 after all.
Further more, when you're presenting an argument, you are required to show your facts. What you're doing is saying "I know more than you. I'm right and this is what I have to say" and calling that an argument.

You've said, "I know more than you therefore it's fact." so you have no facts.
Here are my facts:
*The pornography industry only wants women that the majority of men will find attractive. By that virtue, men generally find porn stars attractive.
*Men want attractive women.
*Men will strive to mate with women they find attractive.
*Men will not be fixated on one thing or women, this is shown as men have a variety of pornography.
My conclusion: It's impossible to say there will be no influence, that is basic nature. However, the significance is questionable.
The general point is that "porn will make men only want overly attractive women." However, men have already been biologically set to desire attractive women; it is a very basic and well known concept, along with common sense. (the sources for that statement are in the links above)
The most harm is to, psychologically sound, young males, who are impressionable and have little experience with women as they would gain the wrong impression of what the world is actually like. There is, however, laws in place which dictate that pornography may only be viewed by those of the age of 18 or higher.

You get exposed to an insane amount of stimuli a day.
Heck, you get exposes to thousands of advertisements a day alone.
Will watching a lot of porn influence your ability to perform? Yes, but it would require an insane amount of porn and the reason you wouldn't be able to perform correctly is because of the addiction more than desensitization having that much of an effect.
What it COULD influence is indeed what men find attractive in a woman. That much is true. It's called arousal for a reason, if you don't feel attraction you won't be able to feel full arousal.
It could also affect your performance, not in terms of dysfunction as in you can't use it, but would make you more of an early ejaculatory. This would be because you condition yourself to care more about your pleasure through increased masturbation and thus have little regulation during the actual act itself because you only see your pleasure and don't think about shared pleasure.
Desensitization tends not to be a factor when it comes to experiencing it in a personal manner anyways. We're exposed to way more violence than sex on average and while we may become desensitized towards violence that doesn't influence us (hearing about murders and such on the news) we do feel those heated emotions when they affect us (yourself, friends, or family members.)
Oh, and the article is a complete joke.

4:I didn't say I was right, I'm only laying out the information that has been published to the public, to you it may seem I am just forcing my argument in, but to others they will find it a little bit reasonable and understandable even though we ALL have something to discuss.
5:I disagree on the part where men and women are genetically made to being attracted to someone who is much stronger, pretty and well made... but this is a discussion about psychological influence and how the nature in things are being ignored and how well some people are "subconsciously" influenced or manipulated.
and you are just pointing out the nature in human beings being driven by their own sexual desires... where I clearly point out the "PSYCHOLOGICAL" effect on a human behavior based on sexuality....
The better the women the more drive men have to perform intercourse and the women with less "Sexual Quality" is considered not talking about...
and how do you know that men are genetically made to mate with the one who has better "sexual quality" than the ones without it?
Humans today are nothing in comparison with humans from thousands of years ago..
Humans back then just mated, nothing more and nothing less...
You can't ask a male from 2011 on what his ideal women is, he will give you an answer what sounds like any other answer from other guys striving for the same thing : a Hot sexy plump woman DX
If a guy from 10000 years answered the same question he would give an answer just like his men from his tribe ,, " We just mate, and eat and hunt"
Please don't tell me that scientists actually made a time machine and observed human behavior before Jesus even came to this world because your theory is a theory based off of opinions and "new school" materials.... where I explain stuff that is impossible to call bullshit to...
and the examples I set out.... they have everything to do with it... doesn't matter if it's a minor or an adult....
Companies USE psychology to bring people to buy and consume their products just like porn is selling their ideas to people to "subconsciously" alter their expectations on how a true woman should be....
which is kinda depressing considering people shouldn't judge others based on their own expectations and ideas.....
I'm talking about the source that EVERYBODY knows about....
we know damn well that tribesmen in the past didn't choose their females based on their looks but based on the fact that they just wanted to mate.. REGARDLESS if the women had big breasts or long legs with a big butt....
In the end "Sex is Sex, and sex has NOTHING to do with looks or their expectations on people"..... once you get past that wall over the looks and the ideals that "HUMANS" have created then in the end you will say : My God why did I think about choosing the best one when women physically are the same....
New School vs. Old School... I win but I'll give you a rep+ anyways because you also gave a good argument but it was more based on opinions from people rather than fact itself....
I lay out the facts based on Natural behavior and Psychological behavior...
You are just reading the stuff that only a few people given their opinion about and not on what is actually true...'
These people are "Subconsciously" influenced or psychological manipulated because they heard it from other people or they saw it on TV that women with Big breasts and small waists are perfect partners to mate and have better chances to make babies....
One question? Do you yourself believe their theories?
Television is considered a BIG step in psychological influence rather than entertainment just like porn and advertisement is.

Again, no sources, etc. I say something, give sources or reasoning, you just respond "no you're wrong this is how it is because I know about this stuff" I'm not even going to bother.
Except for two things...
"Please don't tell me that scientists actually made a time machine and observed human behavior before Jesus even came to this world because your theory is a theory based off of opinions and "new school" materials.... where I explain stuff that is impossible to call bullshit to..."
HOLY FUCK CAN PEOPLE BE THIS IGNORANT?
Very clear records start at the ancient Greeks. Records exists from even further back. Evidence starts even further back than that.
On top of that, you don't explain anything. You say "this is how it is" because "i know this stuff."
"they bring up the commercial from McDonalds ... and people get influenced by such things and changed from home cooking to fast foods...",
and "You say bullshit based on your opinion and not on facts"
Advertising will make someone aware, and perhaps want to try something. If they like it then they like it, if not, they don't. It doesn't make you want anything, unless you already enjoy it, where you just start thinking about it, you get a craving for it, you say, "yeah, maybe that's what I'll have for dinner."
But here are the facts:
But saying McDonalds commercials are making people not eat at home? That's absolutely ridiculous. You could take a survey of the average Canadian, the majority of which, don't eat fast food. According to the Canadian Community Health Survey, only one quarter eat fast food, but that includes: "as little as a cup of coffee or a salad without dressing."
McDonalds started in 1940, so that's 71 years. Only 25% of Canadians eat fast food, only a very small portion is McDonalds, and then on top of that, the percentage gets cut down even further since it includes things as little as a drink or coffee. So yeah, your claims are fucking bullshit.

"Advertising may also spark someones interest" It's exactly that. It will make someone aware, and perhaps want to try something. If they like it then they like it, if not, they don't. I never implied that you were wrong and my information is based on sources that clearly writes about actual human behavior.
and I'm not talking about Canada here im talking about different countries around the globe, you don't see me writing about surveys in Germany do you? And you are just writing about healthy people....
Write something that will make me bow down to you....
and once again I did NOT write Im right and you're wrong...
im just pointing out the points you made and the points I made.
And when I write my stuff isn't bullshit I really mean it... because it is something that a large majority can agree too....
because I actually say things that is reasonable and easy to understand...
Maybe your right that I don't pull out any evidence on this.. but then again who can disagree on this? I already said that human behavior from thousands of years ago is MUCH different than today's human behavior...
and scientists from the Greeks wrote theories about human sexual behavior based on animals and not based on the actual human itself since there did not exist advanced technology at that time....
Oh and I was being sarcastic about the time machine so you don't need to be all BS about it.

I've provided links to scientific journals and surveys, you have... oh yeah.

that clearly writes about actual human behavior.Obviously not clearly, since you're the only one who sees it. We have a name for that sorta thing...

Surveys are not meant to prove anything except ask a question and normal civilians answer them....
an answer cannot be proven fact by sheer numbers alone.. that is ridiculous.

Yeah but you forgot the part about scientific journals, articles, etc.
On top of that, you also forgot to address the fact that you have absolutely no sources.
What's really ridiculous is the fact that you're complaining about the sources that I've provided, when you, yourself, have provided none.
On a post note, Takerial makes a good statement in general.
Takerial wrote...
What it COULD influence is indeed what men find attractive in a woman. That much is true. It's called arousal for a reason, if you don't feel attraction you won't be able to feel full arousal."This is true. However, chances are, it's probably of a different problem. Many people will find porn stars attractive, but that doesn't mean they won't find regular women attractive. That is something important.
When people can't find themselves attracted to real women, I believe it's of a different problem. They take something that's not reality and embed themselves in it; porn just may be what they choose to embed themselves in. That sounds very familiar to me, very much like the people with a 2D waifu. But we don't say watching anime creates people only able of having an attraction to their 2D waifu.

because you only see your pleasure and don't think about shared pleasure. This is generally a personality thing. I jack off a good 4 times a day, but when my partner is over, I'm as selfless as possible.
I would give you a rep+ if I didn't already use mine today.

It is because the evidence I write here is something everybody knows about....
where your sources is about surveys and research that dates back to where they couldn't know all about human behavior because these findings in the past changed over the years therefore cannot become a fact....
A fact is a permanent information that stays unchanged regardless of new findings..
