Is it true how japanese men in japan treat their wives?

I'm sure you guys have heard one of these at one time or another. I have heard or read a lot of rumors about the way Japanese men treat and view there wives and children. THESE ARE NOT MY BELIEFS, I simply want to correct my knowledge as many of these are difficult to believe of such an advanced and intellectual race.

Japanese men are increasingly unfaithful to there wives
They believe there wives are simply there to clean house and rear children
They take little to no interest in the their children's lives
They beat and verbally abuse their wives
They take no interest in satisfying there wife sexually, only themselves
They force their wives to abandon their career upon marriage and detest/refuse them trying to pursue one while married.

and that information is mainly what I am trying to verify. Its where I picked up these horrible rumors but the information seems sounds even if it is from a dating site. Also I have heard some of these from other people. These are basically the only ones I remember although if anyone has any other ones I missed feel free to share them and hopefully refute them.

If this is true I feel truly sorry for japanese women as many of them are beautiful beyond comprehension to me(Not that looks are all that matters to me) and angry with the men for many reasons.

I'm guessing you're that type that would listen to just about anything. This shit happens in any culture.

Yes, this happens all around the world. Also, you can't possibly believe that what you read on that site applies to every japanese man.

That sounds like arranged marriage to me. i did hear that extra merital affairs are some what accepted, as long as there is no love for the mistress(or whatever the male version of).

OH MAN

So I went to Japan a few weeks ago. I went to a Japanese club on my own and was just dancing around to their music when some guy comes over to me. He explains "You have to dance in exactly the same way the DJ dances! Don't dance in your own way!" so I kind of go along with this. Then he says "Look, you can get with Japanese girls. I'll show you how" then just grabs two random Japanese girls and pushes them at me. Me and these two girls put our arms around each other and dance. This sort of shit carries on for a few hours until we're going around and just grabbing random Japanese girls who will then just make out with you. No more than making out, but just randomly kissing seems to be the norm.

Later I say to him "That was kind of weird, you grab an English girl like that and she'll just hit you" and he said "Yeah well Japanese girls are... kinder than western girls?"

That's kind of summed it up for me. In Japan, slut = kind. Non-slut = selfish.

Well i live in Hawaii, and one time i went to the beach... and along comes a group of Japense Torroists, and all of them started stipping in the mens changing room, not towel, nothing... i was freaked out... good thing i was on my way out =w=

You mean you are supposed to hide and cover yourself while changing in the men's changing room? Perhaps cover with one hand your crotch and the other your mouth as you give a shy smile if ever some other guy in the men's changing room catch sight of your naked body?

most people uses a towel and take them off. I mean there isnt any stalls for you to go into but most people use a towel.

The only group of people that just strip nude are japense men, which was weirder was that they put the towel on after they changed clothes

Sounds like over-generalisation to me. Like what the others have said before me, jackasses that ill-treat their wives, sons and/or daughters can be found on every continent. LOL, ok perhaps not as many in Antartica :P I'm certain that there are also as many hen-pecked Japanese men as there are those who bully their wives.

In the past from what I remember it was even worse, women were like commodities like 20 years ago according to my uncle who worked there for a while. But of course Ive never been there before so I wouldnt know.

But the thing is, even if that is the custom there still, it does not mean all japanese men do that nor all japanese wives are treated as such.

I guess thats where this idea is coming from ever since I got here... "You should get an asian wife"

If female dominated cultures are so much better then male dominated, where are they?

I've had this feeling that matriarchal societies never actually existed. You had enlightened or liberal societies like ancient Egypt or the Minoan civilizations, but even in those cases this "view" of those cultures could be our own bias.

I got this nagging feeling that the ideal "matriarchal" society is nothing more than and idealist escapist theory made by the liberal types who couldn't put up with the fact of how fucked up humanity is. They needed a "scapegoat" or some "-ism" to label as the cause of all these ills instead admitting that humans (or males in power) are bastards and abusing & using women isn't an aberration but the natural state of our wretched selves.

Until a little while ago all societies were muscle powered. All abstract power comes from the power to kill. Males always had more than women. Hence the state of our wretched affairs.

Well from that stament i see that most of japanese man was a jerk.

Well the truth not all as if you guys see from the japanese women after marrying they would just sit and relax their ass on the house trying to clean their house(Not really cleaning if i remember they even have a maid to help them clean their house)Not only that they will control the males money and only give you allowance a month once or a week once.

For those report you read of course not all of those report are correct probably some were make up story as the woman already tired for her husband and ready herself for a new one. And of course the bad case will always make big while the good thing will never be announced rendering only the bad thing to be known.

There are so many different type of men out there so im not surprise if this men do this and that but not all men in japan do the same thing i think all of us are different in some way ...
