Japanese Racism and Bigotry

Well, first of all I guess it also depends alot on the region you live in. Though I hate to be a master of the obvious, I just gotta say that it makes a large difference if you live in a neighbourhood with high national pride or with mainly immigrants etc, as those make it easy for the people to focus their animosity to a person or a group.
I lived 8 years in Denmark myself as a German and you can, if you do your best not to upset them by adapting to their culture, split them in two groups. The ones that just plainly hate you because they are retarded and don't have any Intercultural Communicative Competence (oh thank god for studying English and having those scientific phrases at hand when you need them!) and the ones who are happy that you are trying your best and are friendly to you.
Incidently the last group outnumbered the first one by a great amount. Last but not least the best skill is to learn how to close of your ears to the random gossip. Because nothing entertains those people more than stabbing into others backs with words when they know they are vulnerable.

Well, I'm not Japanese, I'm Korean. But, judging from the Korean standpoint, yes you'd have a hard time. We Koreans and Japanese stress purity a lot, so naturally, there will be problems being a half-half.
However, the majority of the time(mostly with the new generation), people will just pass by without too much care. Most of this disdain for half-half comes from the older generation.
Hey a half-Korean like me. XD
Anyway, what Catcher says is correct unfortunately. Asian countries do emphasize purity, but as Eranikum said, it also depends on the region you'll be in. (BTW long time no see Eranikum :D) Generally the country side will probably be better. Cities... not so much. Even if you were a full blooded Japanese, the city would still be ruthless... It'll also depend on what nationality you are. English, Canadian, American, etc. will also play a part in how you're treated. Probably.
