Money Or God?

It's all back to how strong their faith is,
how they held importance of their faith
how one see their live as
one may see it as blessing(+)
one may see it as "vacation" before next world(...)
one may see it as "sick game that God play on mortal"(-)
(uwah, now i'm sound like atheist; i'm one though :D)
and depend on how they thought live as
it would result what they prioritize
be it current life(money) or next life(God)

If its about things that gave impacts to the world, i'll go with god. Religion have many impacts to the world, just look at the history. Ancient Egyptians build Pyramids for their dead kings, Rome and Greeks with their war machines, that eventually leads up to mathematics and science.
War between religious factions, ie. Crusade war in europe long time ago, makes way for politics, better country management, new borders formed. When countries get colonised, the spread of new cultures and new ideas. Abbasid and Ottoman empires, with their Muslim scholars discovered many scientific breakthroughs during their reign, and they said they did it because of religion.
No, i'm not pro Islam or anything.Just pointing out my view. Yes, money does have its role on all the things above, but when considered how the money is spent and on what purpose its is used on, IMHO, i think god have more affected this world.

Consider law. No doubt that is a significant concept. One could argue that law comes from morale which is based on religion. Consider 10 commandments as an example. On the other hand, one could say that the purpose of law is (apart from other things) to protect your possessions. This way one could conclude that, for "god" and "money", one is the result of another. It can be viewed both ways. Either way it provides an answer to your question.
So where did I go wrong?
Note my abuse of words "one could" and etc. My point was that if you use poor assumptions it is easy to make even more broken conclusions.

Money. I really don't wanna go into why I didn't choose God other than "I'm an Atheist" but yeah, Money.

Your looking at the term law in a very obscure way. law was around before religion,in ancient times(before most modern religions), but it was more a way to have set boundaries in their societies. Sure, it wasn't the legal doctrine it is today, they were more of unspoken laws(laws of the land and such). So I really don't put them in for each side, considering they are both prevalent in some way or another. Thanks for the thoughts though :D

Neither of these can be encapsulated to measure their impact. Neither is really a defined thing. Even if you look at them as greed and morality, they are still not separable. No offense, but the discrete perspective is a little naive.
You're wrong. While it would take a long time to measure their respective influences upon history, both are distinguishable factors in the development of mankind.
Personally, I would say that money has had a more significant impact. Mankind is inherently corruptible. The moment we started ascribing value to things, human society changed. Even in the earliest of cultures, limits were placed upon what you could do, based upon what you had.
Think of it as a concert, or whatever. Anyone can get a ticket, but the best seats are only available to those who can afford them.

As an agnostic, I believe that when you strip many religions down, they're pretty much about peace, love, and morals. The problem with religion is it can be abused to make people behave in a certain way, taking away their free will and contorting individual's personalities. This happened to me when I was a Christian; I was afraid to enjoy life to the fullest. I once heard the phrase a life living in fear isn't worth living at all.
However, Money can cause greed if one yearns for more, like an addiction. It, like religion, can also be used to control the minds of people (some religions use this too. Think Moonies). However one NEEDS, money to live essentially. Sadly, money makes the world go round.
So, who wins? It was a hard decision, since you can never have enough money and you need it to live, money. For peace and coexistence, you don't need religion, but common courtesy. That's what the golden rule is for. I'm an agnostic yet people still call me polite. I told my grandmother, who is Methodist, that I may have a change in beliefs, but I'm still respectful towards people I meet.

God. There are things money can't buy.And only so much that believers can do without it.

Both have potential of controlling people, events, and how one treated
pretty much standard parameter one would see on other
despite this, however, God still needed
it will act as "limiter" of person
for we all know how corrupt current mortal are
and we too, know there's no limit of our desire
no matter how one might say, they wish for more
and power of money would lead their desire into more... chaotic way
degrading one mind to those of animals, which care only themselves

Money, God can't feed starving children and solve our world's greatest problems. On the other hand...check out what Bill Gates is doing with his money. His foundation is making some ridiculously awesome changes in the world.

God. Though making money and having a successful job is one of nearly every persons goal in life, what they'd do to achieve that is usually based on their morals i.e their religion i.e what their God(s) would allow them to do.

Oh. In that case it's money. In this day and age any society regardless of religion needs money to function successfully. No matter what a society's cause is, money will ALWAYS be an important factor.

Are those the only choices? because I think personal insecurity plays at least as big a role as money and/or religion. considering people like Napolean, who was discriminated against because of his background(plus his own issues with his height), or Hitler who was latent homosexual with daddy issues(and much more). a lot of powerful historical figures seem to be compesating for real or percieved disadvantages.

I might make a poll and add this as a option. If you have an other ideas I would greatly appreciate them.
