matt stone and trey parker push thier jokes too far!now they they are being treated to be killed they censor the show
i dont want to say they deserve a death treat but now they are getting a reality check that there are things you just cant make fun of.one episode that offended me is that episode were the virgin mary statue has her period thats pushing shit too far.
How would you feel if matt and trey got killed?
Its just a show bro, dont be offended by it.
Thats the reason why Issac Hays quit the show, Because of the Scientology ep.
And on topic.
People should not be offended by words. If they are not threatening and if they mean no harm I see no problem with it.
If say They were going to kill Muhammad Yeah, crossing the line. But it meant no harm done.
If Trey and Matt died I would be sad.

Interesting issue. On the one hand, if the issue is of idolatry or respect, why don't they just not watch it? It's like a comedian getting a complaint over a disability joke, and then the media phoning disabled people to relay it and gauge a reaction. Ok, maybe they're worried that it might be one step in dulling the seriousness and importance of Muhammed in Muslims' lives, particularly the 'young and impressionable', but then why don't the clerics just put out a clear message that people might find it offensive and thus ought to be mindful of the context in which it was made? I can only guess that the Sunni/Shi'a rivalry is such that any stand which isn't the opposite of that of the other side would look to be pandering to their views...
On the other hand, does any other religion that South Park has lampooned have such a historical, internal conflict over depictions of a figure as Islam? The Sunni and Shi'a divisions have fought over shit like this. You have a statuette of Muhammed in the Supreme Court building as an influential historical figure - some laud it as a respectful depiction, others fear, having been created by non-Muslims and in such a context, that proper respect might not have been or be given and that in being somewhat glamourous it promotes idolatry.
Christianity, as an example, has had so many divisions gain popularity that the Bible has a thousand different interpretations, and even many different versions; there have also been so many scandals and things done in the name of Christianity (Crusades) that a bit of satire if anything strengthens their position - South Park essentially mocks the differences in opinion by accentuating the more oddball, interpretive aspects of the faith to ridiculous levels; you end up with most Christians laughing it off as a parody of their faith (which in being a parody reflects their temperance) much like the cults and more conservative divisions, so that when those protest, the majority shout them down.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker looked to break down a centuries-old barrier with two episodes, and people are surprised that they failed?

Well, it is just a matter of belief....
Though I have problems with having to be forced hearing the islamic prayer in a very loud volume everyday.
But, I tried to respect them by using a headset and not complaining....
Though you can say that in a certain day it can be annoying...
Cause they scream it through loudspeaker at midnight
So, Did I have any right to complain?
No, of course....
So, I think a true freedom can`t be gained at least for me in the east....

And in related news that episode wasn't shown here due to the number of threats that the channel had received and they didn't want to put their employees in danger, 1-0 to the muslim terrorists vs freedom of speech.

In recent news, regarding the New York Times Square, after reading two newspaper articles, I found out that the car-bomb was parked near Viacom, which controls South Park. Heh.

That was probably coincidence rather than intent

No. Not at all. Of all the places in Times Square, it had to be right around Viacom. And what had happened regarding South Park recently, the chances of this being a coincidence are very low.

The bomb was crude, even for Islamic Terrorists. Plus, Times Square is one of the most iconic places in New york. All I can really say is, it's too soon to make a judgment. After Flaser enlightened me to the Fort Hood event I've learned to reserve my judgment until all the facts come to light.

While I can understand their reasons I can't support their actions. We can't allow terrorists to dictate our actions. At the point where our actions are dictated by the fear of repercussion from militant radicals, then all pretense of our freedoms are thrown out of the window. We cannot allow these monsters to destroy our most sacred of rights, the right to speak freely. Not every Muslim is a terrorist. If you mock a devout Christian by tell him the pope is a pedophile and that there is no god, he will end up saying things that may be threatening. Same for every other religion. You mock their beliefs, using the first amendment as an excuse, they believe dedicate themselves and put their faith above the law. Hell, in many parts of the middle east, their faith is pretty much the law.
yep...so true~

These people didn't want to die so they took measures to defuse the threat.
Are you seriously suggesting they should die for a South Park episode that probably cost a couple hundred dollars to produce?

I think the death threats are stupid(in both the south park case and the cartoon case). Seriously, if your making death threats over cartoons and tv shows, then your're taking your religion too far. If you want to be part of the modern world, people have a right to criticize you, and satire is a form of criticism. The whole point of the South park episode was that islam gets special treament.
I have nothing against muslims , but religious fundamentalists bother me

South Park is funny. But then again its retarded. If you mocked my religion I'd probably break your leg.

They probably would have killed more foreigners than Americans if that bomb had detonated. Seriously, only tourists visit Times Square.

It also depends on how its mocked. If its gibberish and some rude remarks then that would qualify me giving that person the finger. But thats how americans are. They do what they want because they think they own the world. Such disrespect these people show.

Such ignorant assumptions you make.

What if in every trust to distinguish skin color, face shape, languages and cultures if god just listen to the beautiful people or rich people? of course not.
therefore it already when we open our eyes, the man himself was always more concerned with the background or who it was but it makes no difference between bad people and good people, whether those who embraced Islam wrong because their religion Islam?? was just a coincidence Just happened to religion of Islam.
