National Defense Authorization Act 1031

I bet if you show the the bill on mtv with two hipsters reading why it wrong.. people will understand. It's sad how true this is.
I don't think people were designed to be among the checks & balances of our government (though the founders said rebellion can be good every once in a while). It is the responsibility of the judicial branch to uphold the constitution, which they have not been doing. the "flaw" in the checks & balances is there is nothing to "check" against the courts.
If we want to rebel (which is starting to be more and more necessary), it would be easiest to rebel against the 9 judges of the supreme court, instead of the +500 people in congress.
so... who wants to be Zero (other than me)?

Meh so they wish to place us in a permanent status of war to be able to bypass the 3rd amendment and reworded it so that it "mainly" applies to foreign visitors to try to abandon the 4th,5th,AND 15th amendments? What the fuck is this, Neo-isolationist North Korea?!They do this and I'll pull out our 1st amendment to stick my 2nd amendment up their ass.

Hand guns and hunting rifles.. this isn't 1800's. Crazy white people have military grade weapons. Fuck i have a p-90 and i'm out of the military. Why would you think the whole will be yes, smash the tiny people. The government isn't after you, the fifth army isn't going to be at your doorstep. This reminds me of one of the warloads in southern Afghanistan saying the americans will rape and eat your kids. Just because their a chance of shit... doesn't mean it will happen. I have a knife.. so will i kill someone because i have a knife. Wait until the government approve it then fight. Or just get off the pot and do something.

There was a psychological experiment that was done that essentially proved that good people will do horrible things. I believe it was called the "Lucifer Effect". Google "Stanford Prison Experiment"
The government isn't after you, the fifth army isn't going to be at your doorstep.
Woodrow Wilson imprisoned Eugene V. Debs for speaking out against the country during WW2. Maybe, I'm not the first on the list doesn't mean that a vocal citizen, such as myself, couldn't be labeled a terrorist just to silence them.
I have a knife.. so will i kill someone because i have a knife.
Attempted Straw man.
Wait until the government approve it then fight. Or just get off the pot and do something.
I'd rather stop it before it's passed because once it's past we might not get an opportunity to remedy the situation.

I don't believe two wrongs make a right. We simply need to elect the right officials. Violence against servicemen is not the answer. They are people just like us, and victimized by the system just as much as we are. But they have jobs to fulfill.
Ron Paul would wish us to be peaceful as well.

But the problem is like you said the few can't beat the government/military. Nor will anyone will get off their asses anyways. First world citizen suffer from the lack of realism outside the cnn broadcast shit. War sucks, getting shot is painful, i can't because Bevis and butthead is on or i wanna skype. It's not like anyone would revolt anyways.. too comfy on the background to give a shit. It's too easy to whine about something without doing anything about it. same with Acta and Sopa. Why do something when you can just sit on a computer and whine.

We simply need to elect the right officials.
I can't do that; I'm just one vote. I can't control who the majority elects
Violence against servicemen is not the answer.
why not? because it's against the law? they're breaking the law, so what makes they're actions different from ours? I would prefer to refrain from violence, but they're the ones forcing us to take action
They are people just like us, and victimized by the system just as much as we are. But they have jobs to fulfill
and they aren't fulfilling their job. the government is supposed to protect our liberties, when instead, they're doing the opposite

When I heard about this the first time I thought that there was no way that it was true. Then I did some research, and my heart sank to my stomach. I was scared in one of the few places that I felt like at home, a place where I should never feel afraid. If this actually manages to pass... I just don't know. It could be veto'd, but I'd imagine that if it passed the first time there'd be a high possibility that the veto would get over thrown. This proposition is so wrong in so many ways, words escape me.
On topic with what's going on in the thread:
Like it was said earlier, violence will only serve to provide greater reason for this abomination to push through. Killing politicians is one of the things that the NDAA is supposed to stop.
While an individual may be essentially insignificant in fighting this, if enough gather together you can have one clear, thundering voice that cries out against it. It may be naive of me to think this way but I feel that there is no obstacle that a large enough group or average people can overcome when they work together. Even the government.
Also somebody mentioned the checks and balances system not being able to touch the Supreme Court. Those judges can be impeached just like the president can.

And who impeaches the Justices? Ah yes, that's right Parliament! The flaw with the Checks and Balances is that the Hens are guarding the Henhouse. The only reason Nixon was stopped was due to political reasons, but with the virtual merger of the Democratic and Republican Parties, well the voting for the NDAA should show you what has occured. Maybe about 1/5th of Parliament, ONE/FIFTH has upheld it's oath to the Constitution. Oh yeah, our system is going to protect us.......not.
This is the reason the Founders granted unlimited power to the States(the people), they knew that if shit ever hit the fan the last ones that were going to protect us, were our dictators. They knew that just as before, and again the ones that would dictate the future of the homeland, the ones who would protect our brethren would be us, ourselves.
We must seriously ask ourselves, what do our petty differences matter in the face of our common interests of peace and well-being? What does it matter that one American is of African Ancestry and the other of Caucasian Ancestry? Or if one is for Gay Marriage or not(or, whether someone's sexuality matters at all in the grand scheme of things)? Why fight amongst ourselves as affiliates of a respective party, when we're not the ones getting any benefit but instead it is this person to whom we don't know that will reap the benefits?
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable. For it's been in the history of mankind to break the shackles of it's oppressors. Should this be voted in by the President, he has committed clear acts of treason and high treason and this wouldn't be the first time. He should've long been impeached for his actions in regards to: Libya, Arizona and the use of the United Nations to influence American affairs as well as the bailout and Obamacare. He even said "The Constitutional Question isn't a Question.". His Administration was even the one that pushed for the removal of text that would protect American Citizens and probably was the one that pushed for an amendment defeated by Rand Paul that would've said "Proven Innocent by the Court of Law? Too bad, we'll keep you incarcerated."
This thing, and all of it's movements is a modern day Enabling Act. We should treat it as such.

Even if this passes on the legislative level (case in point Congress) the President will in all probability veto it, if he doesn't then more than likely the Supreme Court will deem it unconstitutional. Because its a constitutional right to have a fair trial and to have evidence brought against before you are arrested and detained in a jail/prison. It doesn't have a chance in hell of it surviving the day it might be aprroved by Congress.i sure hope so... this is not north korea

I apologize for a Youtube response in SD, but I feel like this puts it best:
Here's a list of Congressman who have voted for it, perhaps you should be emailing the people in your area and complaining. Or at least keeping their names in mind for the next time they run for their seat.

Although assuming this does pass, won't the EU kinda laugh at us? It seems unlikely.I already am. Sure, we get kinda shafted over unelected people making laws for us, but for the most part that doesn't affect us too much.

The title of the video is misleading. He goes to make the decision to sign it on the 26th I believe. Unless you're pissed at him stating the Constitutions is imperfect, that made me mad too :P

First of all, this bill was not created to Prevent/discourage Terrorism, their just claiming this. The Truth is....The big wigs in the goverment(the 1%) have started becoming fearful for their own safety, Not From terrorists, From the american people themselves. Instead of Taking this Excessive Wealth they have and reinvesting it back into the system like they should, There being greedy and are trying to create laws to protect themselves.
I will explain
-The term terrorist, is a very loose term, so loose infact that a simple statement like "man our goverment is doing such an awful job, i bet i could do better" .. harmless enough right?.... nope as you could be plotting a terroist action. The key word in this bill is "Precieved Terrorism" ... meaning its subject to each persons judgment. to me that statment is just someone blowing off steam. but to someone else "oh look he might be plotting aginst the goverment"

If this passes, the bill of rights and constution will be null and void. Basically what it would boil down to is, you do what your told, keep your mouth shut. if you dont your imprisoned (more likely executed more cost effective)... if you try to gather people to protest "oh look they MIGHT be plotting a terrorist actvity, i dont have proof but i dont need it" look at that 50 people imprisoned for nothing.....
If this does pass, Nothing good is going to come out of it, for both the goverment and the people..
National Defense Authorization act 1031- "imprisoning the people from acting against, the corruption in their own goverment. under the guise of discouraging/preventing terrorism"
Expect things to get very bloody and violent, if this passes, i gurantee you we will have another internal war.

when law is involved even more so..case and point.. one little typo in a law made every marrage in texas invald.. of course this was as easely fixed as it was started.
the point is, even the littlest thing can make a massive change.
Our Goverment is good at three things
-Alteritve motives
-Selective-misinformation
-disceet
you know how i came up with all the information in my previous post?.. damn sure diddnt read it off the internet, tv or newspaper... i looked around at whats going on with our country...within a matter of seconds this hit me.. ive been looking for evidence to disproove me but all im finding is more evidence to support it. listening to the media isnt bad, but taking that information word for word as reality is foolish.

The only way that I got this information too was from my fellow peers and classmates. This act is gonna fuck everyone up not just the US and since Canada is so close, we're fucked too.
