SO the families are suing the school.America seriously needs to stop suing everyone for everything, we need to learn how to take responsibility for our actions. The school may be partially at fault here, but it is the DUTY of the parent to TAKE CARE of his or her child. Of the 18 hours the child is at home with a parent, it is the parents duty to take care of the problems that a child can not face alone. The parents need to take responsibility for neglecting their child. I think that the US should have stricter suing laws.
you know i agree with this now that i can think about it and im not raging, the parents should be legaly responsable for this. along with the kids, i say sue the parents and send the kids to a correction facility for a year, or to prison. im leening twards prison

Perhaps the culture of bullying is too embedded into society for things to change overnight. However, if no one takes the first step into the right direction, nothing will ever change.
I am not sure what my fellow Fakku members feel when they read about highschool shootings or incidents along those lines, but for some reason, bullying comes to mind. There is a possibility that the culprits behind these shootings may actually be victims of bullying, causing them to retaliate, albeit in the wrong manner.
I would think the authorities should stamp down on bullying for starters, but how to go about doing so is quite a difficult problem.

Parents can't be there at school to always protect their kids.
And kids don't always want to talk to their parents about it. What if they feel like they'll be a disappointment? It's not rational, but a teenager's life is not exactly the most rational.
But the problem is, that the schools have lost a lot of their power to do anything with these kids. Because the parents on the other side of the spectrum went out of their way to basically limit the school's power.
So pretty much, shit can't be done until the whole system is revamped.
But I still say that people who care that little about human life should be cleansed out of the system. They are just future sociopaths in the waiting.

Oh I read this article the other day. Couldn't stop crying as I read it.
I agree with the parents for suing the school, since that's where most of these cases of bullying happen. I mean, look at that guy who was being openly bullied in his math class--I doubt the math teacher did much to stop it if the boy ended up committing suicide.
Teenagers seem to have grown meaner over the years.

This kind of shit and that whole episode where people protested the deaths of solders is what makes me sick and disgusted with America. To laugh at someones funeral is like wanting the parents to blow there heads off. I know if i had a daughter who committed suicide and the girls who did it were at the funeral laughing they would be dead instantly and so would there family.

Yeah, I blame the schools and the parents for that.

I guarantee if you made the parents responsible for the child until eighteen, they'd raise them better. DUI? revoke the parent's license too. Stealing? make the parent pay 20 times what the amount stolen was worth. Make the kid do community service until he pays back 20 times the stolen amount.
Your children are a reflection of you. They better be on their best behavior.
A big problem with crime and punishment is this belief that the punishment should fit the crime. If that is the case, why are people still committing the crime? Make it *NOT* worth their time. Punishment's very nature is to be cruel and unusual so that the recipient associates it to what they did wrong.
I may be considered a hard-liner or barbaric, but you cant deny that someone might think twice if they are publicly flogged and forced to paint ten city blocks for graffitti.
Im off on a tangent, but the fact that these bitches got away with a form of murder infuriates me. Just... ugh... /rage...
