Reps.

Hmmmm rep lets see, i like it. I like the sense of i'm appreciated within the community. I'm also one of the few people to gain the majority of my rep with none porn and or hentai related material (I upload music/OSTs). I would like for rep to count as something in FAKKU >.> anything really. In the end it's the appreciation that i like and showing off my E-penis XD. I would also like a rep log.

I think rep. is just for fun and just to give something to somebody who done good thing to you. Rep. isn't important but its good thing. Still I'm at 0 rep. but who cares

Access to exclusive content? I thought those with higher rep could change their title names and edit stuff.

It's currently 15, i think 30-50 would be better.

As of now, I think you have the highest rep count of anybody in this forum, because I knew that Jacob had the highest rep count since I joined, until now when you mentioned you had the higher count. I don't even keep track of this stuff, but apparently you do, and so what if you start losing a couple of rep points? It's not like you have anything to gain from it. And you're asking for a rep log - oh come on, do we really need that? (Then again, I never liked this rep-thing anyways to begin with because people'll get obsessive over it, not just you, KloWn.)Of course, the argument can be turned against me because I do care about my rep as stated earlier, but because it's only I have so little rep that it matters when you have so much; the way that you acculumated reps just warps the system, not that it's your fault, but point in case proven. I don't see many people de-repping others, and if they get de-repped, 1) they deserve it or 2) they're just being dicks. Being on the forums long enough, we can tell who's being a dick and who isn't, and I suppose that's what matters.
Just because i know how much rep points i have doesn't mean im obsessive about it, it's really not that hard to keep track of since one is bound to catch a glance of it sooner or later when browsing around the threads.
Especially as i look through my own game-threads alot to answer questions and such.
I don't like losing rep for the wrong reasons (or rather when there is no reason all), so in that sense i care about rep i guess, if it's justified then i couldn't care less.
About the rep log, yes i want it, i still can't understand why Fakku wouldn't be able to handle something that every other forum out there with a reputation-system has.
If anything it would be nice to know what one is getting neg'd for.

I suppose my main point is that if we need to debate/discuss about the reputation, then the entire system is useless. Apparently this rep stuff is giving us all headaches, at one point or another - why not forgo the entire thing, especially when all benefits associated with it are erased? We can +/- rep each all day long till we're blue in the face from it... and get nothing from it except a sense of satisfaction/vindiction. But it's here to stay, unless we all collectively say "Down with the reputation." Moot, and so is the rep log because Jacob's turned that down too.

Well, on some and by some i mean most, rep is a big factor. Get high enough rep and you become a mod (BTW FAKKU needs more mods). Also access to some exclusive content. It's just a way of saying thanks for helping the community heres a reward. Not quite! Many people think that post count/rep is a prerequisite to holding a position of responsibility here on FAKKU, but this is not what we're looking for at all. A look at our current mods should convince you of this fact. Your conduct, attitude, demeanor, intelligence, and your specialization (ie. tsujoi's great knowledge of scanlated manga got him the manga mod position) are far more important than your post count or rep.
We've always wanted to have rep actually count for something, without alienating the rest of the community too much (this is the key). If anyone has any bright ideas Jacob and I would love to hear them.
We are on the lookout for additional mods however, and I have my eyes on a few candidates already, whom we shall be contacting in the near future.

It's not a question of whether we can handle it or not, nor do we care if other forums have it. We're not going to have one, and that's the end of it. In fact, there always was one, but access to it is restricted only to admins to see who's abusing the system and who's not. Nothing good will come from knowing who neg-repped you anyway, knowing how some of you behave.

Also don't take this wrong and think i'm dissing the mods there great. All of them are good guys from what i've seen and follow the rules and regulations of the forum carefully.

@Raze: which is exactly why a rep log was useless. You're better off not knowing - ignorance is bliss. I was never fond of the rep system because all it amounted to was dick-stroking, a nod to animeholic1's E-penis reference. And if we were to separate/restrict access to the user uploads sections for its goodies (mass reorganization required), most forums usually do so by post count, not reps. It'd be pretty easy to get rep up instead of posting 50+ posts.
But it's true that FAKKU is understaffed in moderators. We have quite a few moderators, but they aren't very active, with an exception of Gambler, Mattarat, and Mike (general mods). The forum's userbase/activity has come to a point where we either need our mods to be more active or more mods. More mods can also allow further reorganization of the threads. God willing, there bunches of useless and old threads that can be deleted and sections that leaved much organization to be desired.

Thank fucking god. I figured it would never get implemented but feared that maybe with enough bitching some myopic idiot would get it in place.
You people complain that "oh no! Someone de-repped me and i don't know why. It must have been for no good reason. I'm mad now." but imagine if you could see who did it. "Oh, it was that kagomeyasha86 asshole. Now I have a reason to de-rep him." and thus brainless rep wars ensue and everyone griefs each other over how each party involved was wrong.

Honostly, it is just a number. HOWEVER, I'm perfectly happy with 0 rep and anything above. I found myself with negative rep yesterday (I guess some people were very sensitive about their MOTEMOTE girls :? ), and to tell you the truth it bothers me. I'm going to have to upload more pics or do something useful to get back to zero. Lol

i too find rep to be useless, though it helps show who is more 'reputuable' than others. it should be an honor though sometimes its missused.
i'll be with HentaiElder with this thread. enough things have been said and good ones too.
[size=10]+rep for having being such a good example of misusing of rep points, k3npach1.
also, having rep points do bring a positive feeling to most.[/h]

I can testify that this is exactly what would happen if a rep log existed. I've seen it happen before, and it can be very ugly. I'm also certain that a lot more threads would be made, filled with people complaining that they got derepped for "stupid" reasons.

Other than letting me know that people appreciate my uploads i don't care for it that much, even though i dislike it when it's being abused.A perfect example would be when i passed Jacob in rep and people started to neg me daily (and rep him) just so that i wouldn't have more than him, it's like, so im an asshole because i uploaded so many games that i passed the admin?
People on this site also seems to have the tendency to neg someone for simple things like not liking a joke or not agreeing with the other persons choice of favourite game, which is pretty fuckin retarded as well.
And i still want a rep log

Well honestly if I remember you made a topic bragging that you had passed me in reputation. If I were a normal user I would probably have given you negative rep as well.
A public reputation log will only lead to people holding grudges and de-repping each other constantly.
