Scientific Experiments (that will kill us all)
Out of the 5 reasons in the link, whichone is the most likely to kill us all?

Taken from here.
Read the article. All of these reasons seem logical enough as reasons the world would end. Which one seems the most likely to you?
I would have to say that as unlikely as it sounds, the Strange Matter theory does hold a place in my mind. Seriouly, EVERYTHING turns into it? That just creeps the shit out of me. It's even more surprising that we have the technology to fuck up like that (Large Hadron Collider, anyone?)
Nanotchnology seems unlikely, because we can counter that somehow. But friggen particles? You can't do fuck about that shit.
The Time Travel theory seems a bit weird too, however much sense it makes.

This shit is serious. Someone blow up that machine before it fucks us all up.
But yeah, some of these theories do make sense, but I highly doubt that we are capable of doing this at the present time.
The nanomachine theory is kind of weak because well, one EMP would probably shut them all down. But the shit that can't be controlled like the gray matter one is pretty messed up.

Definately gonna say trying to recreate the big bang. Why? Has someone done this before, no, and how are they so sure its going to be so successful anyway? Cocky bastards if you ask me.

Imo LHC has the potential to go wrong, not so much as to kill us all, but the French and Swiss will take a lot of damage.

one thing I learned from playing chrono cross is that You should never mess with father time, lest you want an extremely altered future when you do...

Change one small thing in the past, you affect the future greatly. That is dangerous. I go with time Travel.

Even if the LHC fails at doing anything besides smashing two atoms together, I think it's a generally bad idea.
You can ask small children, the harder things collide, the greater the shock at impact. What's to say we don't blow a hole, roughly the size and shape of Belgium, in Sweden (which is set to be flooded anyway)
Actually, could fix this whole "Seas are rising" behind climate change bit. Make a big enough pond to fix the difference.
Also, we can get hydrogen (or whatever) to go near the speed of light. Why can't we just stick some astronauts in a round tube, and spin them until we get to a good cruising speed?
Saves fossil fuel, and makes launches cooler looking.

I've always loved reading up on stuff like this. (really any science.) and the one that I'd think most valid would be the Quantum Zeno Effect, as observing atoms on an atomic level really does radically alter their behavior. (e.g protons from light alter paths of electrons, hence the term electron cloud, as we never know exactly where the electrons are at any given time.)
Really that's where quantum mechanics came from, cause they don't follow traditional physics, so a different set of laws had to be defined. It's really fascinating how the stuff that makes up everything, acts differently then the stuff that it makes. (hardcore layman's terms right there.)

Wow, so somebody else is reading cracked.com besides me...
Well anyway, I put my money on time travel. As I have said on the time travel thread, the moment we turn that shit on, our whole universe will be filled with time travelers and the universe will not be able to carry the strain.
Another scientist said this will not happen because we will just go another plane of existence where any shit we do there will mess up their universe, but not ours. But that will also mean it will be much harder to travel back to our own existential plane.
Btw, when I read that article the day it came out, I was excited on what the Large Hard-on Collider will bring us. Too bad it disappointed me.

OF COURSE I'm kidding, three-quarters of the animé import in Belgium comes via France!

The Big Bang is the most plausible now.. it has always been.. ever since they built that Hydrogen Collider.

I'd go for big bang. Probably the reason the first one happened. And it took all this time for us to get right back to fucking ourselves up again.

Its gonna be Anti-Matter...Its supposedly the strongest energy in the universe and we dumb humans will try and harness it and collaspe our planet in the process

By using it, if someone kill Jacob when he's still a baby maybe a lot of people will be killed or raped by the users here.

nanotechnology, because my friends is a scientist and he's been doing research in nanotechnology. He has shown me some of the things they've created and you have no fucking clue how fucked up it is.
Let's just say something you can hardly see with your eyes can completely control your body.
they exist.

As for the black hole thing, Hawking ruled out the possibility of it destroying earth.
