This thread contains too many pages so I didn't go through them like I did for the tyrant topic. So, i'll just answer this directly.
I personally do not intentionally scrutinize any relgion as an atheist; however, I've been provoked to in the past. If you go around flashing around that your religion is the 'bomb' or like the newest trendy fashion, then I must speak on behalf of my beliefs. But at the same time, I kind of think us atheists in general feel intimidated from the many other religions. We generally aren't in distinct groups, so sure there's many of us but we tend to be scattered and this is maybe why some people feel they must be heard in order to promote their beliefs?

I´m kidding about Norris, is my way to make religious people feel angry, ´cause they take it personal. It makes me happy their missery, HAHAHA!!! (maniac laughter).

This approach doesn't work well in the "Serious Discussion" area, as I would find out. I highly doubt any mature religious people will be angry about the Norris jokes.

Hmm .. all i've read is nothing but a bunch of humdrum. This kind or arguing between religions and human beliefs is the kind of arguing that leads to violence. I'll say Hitler is a good example of this. My religion ... well, i don't have one. Not specifically saying i'm an atheist, i just hate believin in mindless shit that will really get me nowhere in life; though i can say that i hate violence above else. The only thing i want in this world is for people to understand one another, not looking at each other as an "atheist, christian, buddhist" or any kind of shit; i wish people would learn to look at each other as people. However, i know this will never happen as long as there is a religion on earth which poisons a person's mind.

From what I'm told, I'm the "wait and see" atheist. While I don't get at people for their beliefs (To each their own after all) I don't like the preachy type. You all know what I mean, the over achiever that wants the world to know his/her belief and follow suit. I live in NYC and they are everywhere here, trains, buses, streets, etc. Okay, congrats, you know how to use the first amendment, but even that's going too far. When I say this, I mean for both sides, believers and nonbelievers. Seriously, shut up. We get it, you're happy as you are but not everyone wants to hear that shit man. But I'm off topic huh?
To answer the question, no, not every atheist is all preachy and all. You just got bad luck for running into the ones who are. Solution, ignore and walk away if you can, headphones always work as well. XD

If he lacks belief in a god, he's an atheist, regardless of the "wait and see" part. They're also not mutually exclusive, (it seemed like you were implying they somehow are).

I mean open in the fact that agnostics are open to the concept of their possibly being a deity, but that neither he/she nor any religious person could prove, nor disprove, the existence of deities.
And even though not technically, I still personally believe they are mutually exclusive. Atheism is the belief that there are no deities; if you believe that there are no deities then there is no need to have a stance regarding proving or disproving the existence of deities like their is in agnosticism.
I know their is agnostic atheism. Atheistic because they do not believe that deities exist; agnostic because they do not claim to know that deities do not exist. However, to me that is a fallacy if I've ever heard one. So as a result, I choose to ignore that branch of agnosticism.

Atheism is the belief that there are no deitiesMeh, this is stated way too often. Atheism is not a belief, it's a lack of it. I don't actively believe in the nonexistence of a god. I am also open to the possibility of a god, but I lack belief in one until there's a sufficient reason to believe.
I am also agnostic in that I realize that the truth of a god is unknowable. There's no contradiction here.

You can believe in other things just not that their are deities. I hate it when people say atheists believe in nothing as though all atheists would do any kind of crime, including kill anyone because apparently all atheists are immoral thugs.

To be more specific, atheism is a lack of belief in a god, not a belief that there is no god. I completely agree that anything else like morals have shit to do with atheism.

Those who think that atheists are killers are only looking for a scapegoat for all the things they did...To put it simple...they're losers...
Atheists doesn't believe in gods, but it doesn't mean that atheists are savage with no rational minds...

Well, it seems that most people use religion as a scapegoat nowadays. You'll hear people blame misfortunes on an act of god, but there's no actual prof of a "god". The only thing most religions have to rely on is some type of scroll or book, but when you look at it closely theres to many holes and everything fits together to well.
