Atheism is not a lack of faith, we simply put our faith in ourselves. That we will make the right decision when the time comes, even when not guided by a deity or scripture we believe to not match ourselves. The point in being atheist is to take a step away from the higher powers and have faith us as people.

okay guys. you say you're atheists, say if you don't believe in god. in what do you put your faith on? I mean, when we face somthing that make us unsettled, nervous, danger. Somthing that need a miracle. we the deithists always say O god help us. but for you Atheists what/where do you cling your hope.

I'm perfectly fine with people believing in whatever faith they believe in.
So long as they don't start mixing it with the matters of state and/or force their beliefs onto others.

It annoys me to no end with people trying to force their faith onto me, it's the same with fundamental atheists groups they're basicly the same as fundamental religious groups: pot meet kettle.

Personally I lean towards being Agnostic their might be a god there might not who knows.

Let it happen. Anything serious that happened like that is either my fault or someone else's fault; if anything, I'll curse myself or those other individuals for my misfortune. Should there be no one to blame then I knew it was out of my sphere of influence then I just let what ever will happen, happen. There is no point in asking some invisible man in the sky to grant me mercy or hope for some equally unlikely miracle to happen.

My idea of hope is trusting in myself and other individuals. Faith based hope doesn't exist.

Outside of threats that are to occur after my death, (pretty convenient) I don't see any purpose to believing in a holy spook. It's not like it would change my life or me in any significant way. I've never needed any miracles or higher powers in my life to be polite to others, show affection, freely give things away to those in need etc. I think my default setting is plenty good enough to navigate my way through tough times; mental crutches I need not.

On the fact that you guys are so damn fagging racist to us Chinese Indonesian...and while you guys pray to your gods for 5 times a day, you guys still involved in bribery, corruption, rape, prostitution, and lots of colorful stuff....

I'm christian, and I don't have any problem with atheists or any other religion. I'll get made fun of for it and what not, but I don't really care. To each their own ya know?

We all have our different beliefs, don't see why it's so hard to just respect that person's choice in what they believe in.

Those who got into a religion in a point of their life, usually became a bit too fanatical...

I have Christian friends (I go to Christian school)...they didn't bother me at all and it was fun with them...those who became Christian were annoyingly fanatical....It's like they're getting their hands on a new toy...sorry for the bad example...

A little story about the weird ones:
My friend rent a room in my house...He's deeply Christian...We never even questioned him about why he believe in Christianity...
