Sigh, here we go again America

Here we go, after Iraq and the Afghanistan; war for oil 3.0 - US Navy Carrier in Strait of Hormuz.

Scuse me for asking this, by why SHOULDN'T Iran acquire a nuke if everyone around them, including North Korea has acquired one?
By international law, this is actually NONE of America's business whatsoever!
They keep pretending like it's a threat, when Israel has one of the most advanced missile defense systems in the world, THE most powerful intelligence (Mossad), and the superpowers of the world staring down Iran's throat!
I honestly despise what Iran has done, but they are entitled to international law just like any other country. What we're doing is pure imperialism by sticking our nose into their own affairs and acting like its parent whom they need permission from. Da fuck?
Unless Iran strikes us first, then I appose any sort of invasion whatsoever.

Also, I smell a false flag operation; A Vietnam #2. America gets most of its oil from CANADA! Why would IRAN, of all countries, make oil prices go up?
are you serious?
"Comrade, Iran stop supplying us with oil!"
"Okay, let's buy it from Canada instead. Canada, how much is your oil?"
"I'm selling it at 100 a barrel. The US is buying at that price."
"We'll buy it from you at $150 per barrel. We _really_ need the oil."
"Sold!"

I better shut up or else the new NDAA might associate me as a "terrorist" :P
1.Scuse me for asking this, by why SHOULDN'T Iran acquire a nuke if everyone around them, including North Korea has acquired one?
Since the U.S. politicians that wield most of the power are mainly faggots. No sense of just, pride or anything that used to make the U.S. the most powerful country in the world.
2.They keep pretending like it's a threat, when Israel has one of the most advanced missile defense systems in the world, THE most powerful intelligence (Mossad), and the superpowers of the world staring down Iran's throat!
Since Israel is made up of rich jews. Rich jews bribe politicians in the U.S.

Dude, they've been doing that everywhere for half a century now. Simple explanation, they're just power hungry (or, they see profit for themselves in what they do.)

In response to Lishy, it's simple: whenever anything that might threaten it's position as the the lone hegemonic power arises, you can bet your sweet ass that the US will do something about it. Our government isn't afraid of being hypocritical, so long as they stay on top of their pedestal overlooking the rest of the world.
That's why international law don't mean jack to the US. We may espouse the growing importance of international customs and treaties, but we'll crush it all under our feet if it goes against the personal interests of those in power. Kinda makes me wish people would take elections more seriously.

Well I'll be danged at the above posts ^^^
I'm not part of the military so I don't know the true length of these threats. So I will admit I'm uneducated on it.
However, this issue as a whole just doesn't smell right. It's like when someone tries to cover up their cigarette smoke with perfume. You can't tell for sure, but something about it is just stinky..

That's for sure. With the Executive branch, we can never truly know everything that's going on. Even the President, with all the power he has, is probably kept in the dark about certain things going on inside the government. I doubt anyone knows the full extent of what we're doing.
So it's natural to get that feeling. There's definitely things our government thinks they cannot allow us to see/know. This might be another one of them.

Like to make a point. If anyone strikes 1st with nukes, not gonna be much of a country left to retaliate with.

Except if IRAN fires a nuke, they have numerous layers of anti-missile defense systems set up by Israel, America, Britain, and pretty much the entire western world. NOBODY wants a nuclear war!

You know...I just...don't understand. Why go to war over oil? War costs billions of dollars. What the hell is the mentality?
"We need oil, and we want to save money. What's the best way?"
"Let's spend billions of dollars forcibly taking it."
"BRILLIANT!"
I don't get it, I really don't.

Could be spending our money finding ways to make fuel sources that we don't need to dig for.
I'm guessing the government's under the impression that our scientists are too dumb to handle the task.

Iran has every right to act defensively against the Western-War Hawks and Israel, it's not very hard to prove that the west has been causing problems in Persia the past few years now. Britain with the Anglo-Persian Oil Company, then you had the United States overthrowing it's democratically elected government so it could put it's own regime in place. Iran in my opinion is justified to have weapons, but I just don't want them selling to insane terrorist groups who would actually use these weapons rather then using them as chips in the Geopolitical arena.
Then you see these violent regimes arming themselves with nuclear weapons. America will not attack any nation with a nuclear weapon, and it's pretty much obvious the reason why. Countries like North Korea and Iran point to what happened to Iraq and Libya as examples of what happens when you abandon your nuclear program and you oppose American policy or stand in the way of American hegemonic goals. If Saddam had actual nuclear weapons Kuwait would've been annexed, Saddam would still likely have his regime, Libya would've not seen a intervention from NATO on both occasions. Ergo, you see Iran seeking a weapon and Israel very keen on taking it out, but won't do so without American support. Iran seeks weapons to protect itself, it also seeks to enforce it's power in the region, sort of like Manifest Destiny, except Iran see's it more as it's traditional role to be dominate, considering it's Persian roots.
With the end of American dominance coming and the decline of the United States as a world power, America's stake in that region will vanish and a power vacuum will appear, Iran is simply waiting in the wings, alongside Saudi Arabia, both of whom are engaged in a religious cold war.

People, nuclear program does not equate to nuclear warheads. Nuclear program means a bevy of things, generalizing it to automatically meaning the creation of nuclear warheads is quite conceited.
Also i thought it was pretty well known that war = economic boost because it creates jobs and demand.
And for the record, i'm with Iran on this one. The US did a dick move putting restrictions on Iran's major trading partners with them.

Well oil or petroleum will not last forever and the world will soon run out of oil. Countries depend petroleum for fuel, plastic, medicine, and other products that people are accustomed to.

In Iran's case, it does equate to Nuclear Warheads for a few reasons:
1: Iran isn't making progress with it's nuclear program because it wants nuclear energy, Iran is sitting on huge oil reservoirs that it can use for energy production. The entire idea of claiming it's a nuclear program is for the reasons you mentioned, it's vague enough to hint other nuclear activities, but includes the production of nuclear weaponry.
2: Iran preservationist attitude make more sense with for it to seek out a nuclear weapon for the reasons I listed above.
Your right in your assessment about a nuclear program, but depending on the history or policy of another country, you can tell what the program might be more geared towards.

Close but, not quite taking in the whole picture Lundi. The United States spends it's blood and treasure to secure these resources but, the United States does not directly profit from these acquisitions. Instead, Halliburton, the other oil companies and banks are the ones who make the profit. These corporations buy the politicians who then do their bidding by convincing the American people to go to war for reason X.
In other words, it's pure propaganda. The media pushes the idea that we need to go to war for reasons such as Democracy and Humanitarian reasons as we saw with Iraq and Lybia.
When you start digging past the media's story you eventually see the man behind the curtain.
Link.

What's the lamest about the whole situation in the Middle East is the fact that the main reason why the US has become so entrenched in its problems is because we decided to take over as the domineering overseers of the region once France and Britain fell from their superpower status after the Suez Crisis. Should'a just kept our noses out of stuff that wasn't our business, but no. We have to make sure everything's perfect for us.
Yea, Regardless of how this situation ends up, we're pretty much gonna be hated even more by the Arabs.
