So my bestfriend has become a racist...

Me and my best freind have always been close I mean everybody in our little circle are close to each other, but me and him especially connect. in the last two years or so me and my girl have left town, Iv been keeping in contact mostly through messenger and short one day visits, everything seemed cool until recently tho, he had been sending me little messages like "i finnaly know the truth" and "I know who the devil is" weird shit like that" coupled with biblical verses, i didnt think much of it in fact i was kinda pleased that he was getting in touch with his spiritual side.
then he started saying derogatory, things about white people saying how evil they were and how they were Satan and resposible for the way the world is fucked up, and how god must hate them, im like "oooooooookay" i try to talk him down from this cause we both have mutual friends that are non black, but he is talking about how he will have to cut them off as freinds cause he doesnt want to be a hypocryte and say something to offend them, and he says he will show me "the light and truth" when next we meet, im supose to hang with him again the weekend of the 4th of July but now i dont know, im not trying to get mixed up in some freaky racist cult which i think is what have happened to him. but he is my best and closest friend i dont know if i should cut him off just like that. ill try and talk him out of this when i see him but if he doesnt listen this time i think i might have to lose a best friend which is really fucked up

Just do what you already plan to do, and try to talk him out of it, but at this point, if the shit he's saying is really that crazy, he's lost (not to mention he thinks god is backing him up). Come in with low expectations and be prepared to cut ties with him if his douchebaggery persists.

Yea its really crazy cause me and him are really similar in taste and if anyone knows me they know i have a very low tollerance for racism and igorance of anykind, and he use to be the same way, i dont know what fucked up along the way to make him change tho but i guess ill find out when i see him, he use to have dreds but he has gone and shaved his head and grew a long beard saying that is bringing him closer to God really weird type shit.

not really, at first i thought he had joined the nation of Islam, so i asked him and he said Islam and muslims where the creation of the catholic church, which is stupid because if that was the case the crusades would never have happened, but anyway he says "its not a religion its the truth". its not so much black liberation as it is racism tho, cause he does more speaking down on other races than speaking highly of black people, but he says that black people are the only race chosen by god and all other races are cursed and damned, its more like reverse Nazism if i had to discribe it.

Oh wow that's pretty extreme. Funny how extremists can change facts to fit their beliefs. Even though to a reasonable person it really makes no sense. I know a few people who are religious and so much so that they even say "it snot religion its the way god made it." ugh, i think its wrong to look down on people based on race. Sounds to me like he's bulid up to do something crazy. This is most likely not what you want to hear, but I would cut ties with him. If you can't make him see what he's saying is wrong. Give it your best shot, but if it fails cut him loose.

Oh boy... Just tell him that you value his friendship, but you can't condone his views and racist ideas. If he can't give them up or hold them in around you, I'd say it's over.

I don't think more info on him is necessary. He's completely delusional and absorbed into these cultish beliefs. I don't know what it's like saying "fuck off" to a very good friend, but it should be done, with a caveat: no contact until he clears his mind.

All that aside, I feel sorry that your friend has apparently joined such an extreme anti-white cult. Since you're going to go to a 4th of July party with him, I hope that you can persuade him to tone down his racial aggressions for the party so that you both can enjoy yourselves. However, if he starts spouting that "white devil" stuff in the middle of the party (Which I hope that he has enough sense not to do so), you'll probably have no other alternative than to either quietly run away or rush him out of the party...

If you believe him to be your best friend that you especially connected to just let him know that you have problems with his racist spoutings since its bugging you. I mean you obviously will have to talk to him in person, or at least over the phone, if you want to get this message conveyed to him. Everyone will obviously change over time regardless of how small it may be and he might've joined a cult like some people are saying but you wont know for sure until you talk to him. By the sounds of it you didnt mention anything about a cult so we are somewhat assuming that he might've joined one based on how hes talking. So talk it out with him man and if he truly understands what you're also trying to say maybe he'll either stop with his shit or he'll at least tone it down at the party.
