So, should Barry-O have accepted?

Who is to say he didn't deserve it? Last time I checked the opinions of a handful of citizens doesn't really add up to a lot. I don't know where you get your articles, but there are just as many people who are either indifferent, or think he is deserving, as those who think he shouldn't have accepted it.Seeing as how the deadline for nominations ends a little before Feb. 1st, (which is only a few weeks away from the inauguration), who is to say he did anything to deserve the prize? He didn't do jack shit unless you say his campaign for presidency contributed to world peace.
You say the opinions of handful of citizens don't add up to a lot, but it just seems like an excuse to add credit to your argument because your opinion isn't accepted as widely in this thread.

Personally I don't really care whether he deserved it or not. It's a vein prize that doesn't mean a tenth of what it used to. It's just a stupid object for a stupid title that means nothing nowadays.I highly doubt you would be able to say the same thing if it were another president such as Bush. Yes, I know you're going to deny it, but I thought I would put it out there anyway.

Yeah, but look at how many other people got the Nobel Peace Prize for practically nothing? That's what I'm trying to say. It's nothing more than a political tool any more.
As for Bush I will admit that I wouldn't like it if he had gotten one, but I wouldn't have expected him to turn it down either. I just don't understand why so many people think that's a testament to your character to turn it down. It's just an arbitrary thing.

It's nothing more than a political tool any more.If there are any people that think those others deserve the NPP, then I would say otherwise and would tell them so. Again, the issue at hand is not about the nobility of NPP, it's about who is receiving the NPP and if Obama, who is supposed to be honorable, should have turned it down as an honorable man.

It's just an arbitrary thing. And if Bush was offered an NPP and didn't turn it down, I'd feel he was just vying for political power and an unjust president (though I already think that) just as I'm accusing Obama of doing.
Basically, I'm just trying to tear down the godly image the leftist have of Obama. A counter-propaganda, if you will.
