Suicide pills okay or no?
Suicide pills yes or no?

I was thinking about whole suicide subject and I somehow think it should be regulated, how you may ask?
Well there should be some kind of suicide pill which will end your life quickly and painless, but of course in order to get it you need to go to psychiatrist and get a confirmation.
The reason behind this idea is, I mean come on people are committing suicide everyday in some very disturbing way by shooting themselves in the head, hanging themselves, stabbing themselves, jumping off the building and so on.
I mean if they want to end their life anyway, at least with those suicide pills they can do it quickly and die in peace without any pain.
Off topic: I knew about some guy before his wife left him and took his kids and his life was pretty much destroyed, so he jumped off the building and guess what? He ended up in a wheel chair, now imagine how would you feel.

Well it entirely depends on the situation, though if you are in a desperate need of committing suicide then go for the pills, even if my life is kinda destroyed i will still live on.

Should sane people have the right to kill themselves if need be, sure. Should there be a pill, nope. Why? Then all the emo's, dudes who lost their girl or just bored would just kill themselves, even if they don't have the doctor's note or even in the room with the dude. The black market will get them. I don't care if the whiny razor cutters emos die, but others because of depression and pain. If there a way to keep the drug from the wrong hands then sure use it for the sake of the terminally ill to have some fucking peace.

There are guns on black market, I don't see this how this could be worse. As for "emos" I don't really care about them, we lived fine before that word even existed.

A decent number of prescription pills are lethal in large dosages, and if you really go overboard, even some OTC drugs are. Killing oneself is a very easy thing to do; people just want to do it in a manner that will hurt them the least.
I always thought overdosing on sleeping pills was probably the "best" method to commit suicide. Dying while sleeping sounds rather peaceful.
But yeah, back to the question. A suicide pill that psychiatrists can subscribe to patients doesn't sound like a good idea. Nowhere in their job description does it imply that they can feasibly have the power to let someone kill themselves. Also, can you imagine if a psychiatrist's office got robbed? It'd be ridiculous.

[font=Verdana][color=green]It's a ridiculous idea. Over the counter suicide pills? One of the most dangerous ideas I've heard in a long time. Imagine the number of people who would get them, and use them as a weapon.
Besides, not only is it dangerous, but it doesn't exactly encourage mental fortitude on the part of the patient.

Several things could happen if we invented suicide pills. To be frank, I can't really come up with a single outcome that can be considered positive. People would use them as weapons in gang wars and other pathetic feuds, I mean, how can the police prove it weren't a suicide? Forcing a frickin' pill down someone's throat ain't very hard, and it is a lot more discreet than a bullet to the head.
The ones who can sign the papers and give people these pills wouldn't feel very good afterwards either, as it would be too stressful and too heavy a duty to help someone kill him- or herself.
As someone else said, people who really doesn't want to die would kill themselves because they feel a bit down "right now", and that would just be another waste of life.
I just don't really see this to be any good idea. But then again, I find suicide to be stupid and egoistic in the first place.

There's already a 'suicide pill' in existence it's called the cyanide capsule.
I can see huge potential for missuse of these suicide pills that OP suggests such as committing murder with them.
Otherwise overdosing on morphine should be a quick and relatively painless death.
So OP no we don't need suicide pills.

Long story short, I've been on the edge of suicide (sleeping pill OD is not all it's cracked up to be. I thought 30 Rx sleeping pills would do it: woke up next morning with a killer headache and vertigo out the wazoo), and providing a way to do it through "legal" methods is just a terrible idea. I spent three weeks in a psych ward with people recovering from the horrible places they were in, recovering and realizing that life is still worth living. Providing a permanent out for those people with temporary problems is hardly the best approach. Now, does everyone recover? Not quite. I'm still a massive nihilist, but I'm not about to off myself. There are still lots of things that I want to do.
tl;dr Permanent solution to a temporary problem, speaking from shitty shitty experience here.

No, nope, never. Suicide pills are one of may things that wasn't supposed to exist in this world. this statement is silly but when you lost someone because of that pills of death, you'll agree with me

You can just overdose on barbituates, so why would you need a specific suicide pill?I was thinking something similar. Committing suicide by overdose of various drugs has been a popular way for people to end their lives, especially women. Pain is already essentially eliminated. I don't see a reason for a specific pill to be created to do something that can already be done with other capsules that aren't very hard for someone to obtain.

First off: http://www.cracked.com/article_15658_the-ten-minute-suicide-guide.html
OT: ODing sometimes won't kill you. If it doesn't it makes life a hell of a lot worse. If you survive your overdose, via being resuscitated or others, you may end up with brain damage and some disabilities.

Maybe one day, these type of "last-option methods" will circulate around the market. But certain cultures have bounds against suicide.

There are no needs of pills designated to suicide to be produce.
Even there are such things, the chance of misusage of these are high and it could end up to be use for killing other rather than killing self.
Off topic: people are selfish, cause unconsciously our body will try to survive despite our minds willing to die (so, do we own this body? think again)
