Surviving Nuclear Aftermath

Now i know this is absurd and what not. But i would like to know what would you do after surviving a Nuclear Holocaust? Say all you had was a rifle with 15 rounds, food for 3 days, water, and had to travel the barren wasteland to reach the nearest living establishment to resupply and get medical attention. What if you had to face mutation, radiation and the perils of a new world? How would you survive?
Edit : You're given 110 rounds, and the establishement is 80mi. away. You can walk but fast means of transportation, ( vehicles ) are rendered useless.
2Edit : If you're with a friend, you have 200 rounds, and food supply is 4 days worth, but must be shared evenly.

15 rounds?! You must be out of your mind. Hypotheticals be damned, my SHTF protocols demand that I never let a week go by where I've got less than 100 rounds. If I survived this nuclear Armageddon, that means I was bunkered underground, where I wouldn't have been using that ammo, because there's nothing to hunt and nobody to kill that my trusty shotgun wouldn't have done a better job on.
Also, you haven't said how far away that situation is. I'd have to know that before I even popped the top on my rad-proof bunker.

Remember me?
I'm totally a pussy, and I am terrible under pressure- I probably wouldn't last long.

Love your edit ..
Way more logical but still absurd ...
On the other note, I would have to do my best for surviving ... even it said that i must kill radiate/mutated/infected being who was once human ..
Food for 3 days ? Conserving it will be major pain in the ass ... it's hard but not impossible ..
But IF i am succeed in surviving and reach the nearest living establishment ...
i wonder what will be my body/condition looks like ....
Do i have option "Call a friend" here ? Your 2nd edit kill my idea ..

I personally have 6 old cars around my house. (and live out in the bush to boot) (aka non-computerised) so EMP effect is useless on them, thus I would be fine. (1 of them is a 4WD) I would take the off road route because the highways would be fucked.
But if that got stuck, I would only move during the daytime (and then slow and deliberate movements only), eat one meal a day and would rig an underground fox hole style spot to sleep during the night.

Walk. If i run out of food, then I'll eat whatever i can find. if i run out of water, I'll eat the snow or drink. and try to get to the establishment before i die from radiation poisoning. the gun would be used to kill anything i can find for food, or defend myself. or eat my attackers whether human or not, in this kind of situation, logic and morals go right out the window. i would sleep in the daytime, as most carnivores are nocturnal and in high places. The existence of mutants and such is completely impossible. Mutants created through radiation exposure are purely fiction, so we wouldn't need to worry about that. Insane people and angry animals on the other hand...
It would also depend on how far away i was from the epicenter of a nuclear explosion. If i survived the initial blast tho, I'd be far enough away.
OPTION 2: Dress warm, bring all my supplies, my carton of cigs, my lighter, my weapons (I have a machete, a bowie knife, a vintage WWII Colt M1911A1, a Trench Gun, and a KAR98K German rifle [I collect WWII weapons]) and go Mad Max up in that shit.

First thought... why is this in serious discussion?
Second thought... why does this thread even exist? Don't we already have the Fall Out series to fulfill our post nuclear holocaust desires?
What I will do in a post nuclear holocaust is stay underground until im sure it's safe to come to surface (whenever that is). Of course if the need to come up for food in which the maincourse and desert would probably be cockroaches...

Spoiler:
The reason why I ask is because we live in a time of great civil unrest, prejudice, and war. Now, no disrespect. Fallout is a game, albeit, a good one at illustrating survival in the aftermaths of nuclear war. But real life ain't always pretty. I've taken gas mask classes, marskmanship, and had to hold out in a tent with simple food, water, and rifle for 7 days. Shit gets real. The desert ain't no joke. But I want to know is, how many of the fellow users actually knows or believes they know how to survive? Granted the impact, or radiation don't kill you. I've been through a " simulation " you can say, but I highly doubt , I alone would survive. Just asking for opinions.

I don't even know how to defend myself, moreover use a gun. And I eat five meals a day. Suicide is my best option.

I would try to find my way towards establishment, trying to find any habitable areas along the way (i.e where humans once lived) in search of canned food. If there isn't any, I'd just try to conserve rations and shoot any edible animals I come across and frying them over campfire.
If I couldn't find some establishment, I'd try to found one myself. Some defensible place, with food an water is preferable.
other than that, I don't see any other option, besides just sitting around.

What are the conditions exactly? Do you mean immediately after the cataclysm of some time after? For instance, my Mormon relatives have a 1-year reserve in their basement pantry. I would have a 1-year supply of MREs in a very cool place, along with a deep stack of Lake City M855. Do you mean that you've survived on your stash as long as possible and now have no choice but to strike out to the nearest place? Because if there is any significant amount of radiation then you will die a very painful death. I'm in the bunker with my life partner, so when the food runs out we'll just fuck until it hurts and then drink the kool-aid together.
Following your scenario though...
*First off, three days food. Walking for 12 hrs a day at 3mph will get you the 80 miles with time to spare. That's assuming ideal conditions though, but you still have 28mi worth of margin.
*110rnds? Let's assume, for argument's sake, you've chosen a lightweight, yet effective cartridge/rifle. An AR-15 in either 5.56mm or 5.45mm will be less than 10lbs of equipment w/ammo, and within 100yds a very, very effective defense. 3mph isn't a strenuous pace, so if you can't get center-of-mass shots within 100yds with an AR-15, then you kinda deserve to die.

Well, to start, if I'm going that kind of distance, it'll be by bicycle. I can fix and maintain one myself with little to no difficulty. I can also jury-rig a carrying rack behind the seat to strap bags full of supplies onto. Solid tires, rather than inflatable; the ride may be rougher on the tuckus, but better that than run the risk of having to leave half the stuff on the road because of a flat tire.
First thing is, I'd bring as much clean water as I could. In a contaminated environment like that, you cannot trust any water supplies you find. Regular methods of water filtration would not be effective in removing radioactive content. A body needs water much more than it needs food.
Second, I wouldn't even bother going out without a rad-suit and a good supply of iodine supplements.
Third, as for mutants - I'm a damn good shot with my rifle, which I'd keep slung beside me in a saddle holster, loaded and ready to go. Holdout pistol in .45ACP, too, just to be sure. Extra ammo stowed in the carry rack.
Fourth: food. I can make due with two meals a day and stay at peak efficiency for a week, so I'd be fine with three days worth of rations (I'm assuming it's MREs).
Fifth: a radio. Might not get anything through the background interference, but it would be a good idea to have one just in case. Either manual crank-style or solar-powered rechargeable works; old chemical batteries are not trustworthy after sitting too long.
Sixth: light source. Solar-rechargeable batteries for a larger light, and a hand-powered LED hand light. Wouldn't need too much.
Seventh: shelter. Tent with a camo net in local colors (or plastered with mud if not otherwise possible). I could probably bike 80 miles within one day, but this is just to be sure. Blankets also.
And finally, medicine. Basic first aid, clean cloths and bandages, and my own necessities.
I'd start out before dawn, because noon in my area is murderously hot, and I wouldn't want to be traveling then, especially in a rad suit. In case I do end up not making a 10mph pace and fail to arrive before noon, I'd set up the tent and rest out the hottest part of the day in the shade. Around 5PM, I'd then break camp and continue on. I should reach the destination before nightfall.

First I would check myself for any injury. If I find none i go straight to the settlement. If I find injury I attempt to fix bandage it etc. then go to the settlement. I would save my ammo for and mutated animals, people, etc. I find on the way. I would stop at nightfall in a save area and rest/eat. Upon reaching the settlement I would give up the rest of my food and then volunteer to help with anything. That is assuming that I could survive exposure to nuclear fallout.

I would walk the 80 miles straight (minus a few hours of sleep) when I am still in my most healthy and able state. After you reach the establishment and find out that everyone has turned into zombies is where the real fun starts. Good luck with your 100 or so rounds...
