Teen Pregnancy.

I hate Twilight and Teen Mom shows too, but I don't think they're a reason for teen pregnancy. They're merely some of many media and social factors that normalize it.

In fact, at least in the US, teen pregnancy rates have actually DROPPED in recent years.

I have to sid you can't blame the media. Really I think a couple months back they reported a survey that teens pregnancy rates had drop some. I remember last month a teen was on the news doing a report on begin pregnant. She wasn't really pregnant but pretend to be. She wanted to see people reaction and how they will treat her only a few people knew what she had done.

You really can't blame the media. Usually, it the people they hang around and the information they be telling them.

The graduating class before mine had about 20% of its women pregnant or had given birth in the previous year. Well, all I can say is that there were a lot of people who through away their future. And seeing as how a little less than half of that class failed and had to repeat, the future of those children does not look good. As to why things like this seem to happen, its pretty simple. People are becoming more and more irresponsible and spoiled. They don't think about the future, or possible repercussions for their actions. The spoiled aspect is simply that they get what they want. In certain cases, it is as simple as wanting a baby for the sake of having one. Other times, they want a baby to show that they and their partner have (and I quote) "Only the truest and purest love" or that they experience feelings that no one else could possibly understand. Upon meeting a former class mate (A senior who was held back twice) who was pregnant both in the year before mine and the year in my class, I had learned she was pregnant again (allow me to explain; three pregnancies, three different guys, same excuse about love that I posted above). After some brief (insulting... not from me initially) words, I told that I sincerely hope she goes the same route of "La Llorona" and walked away.

Throw away the baby handle more serious.

CASE throw away the baby should be raised to become major issues that led to the punishment commensurate to the offenders. There is no word of an appropriate for us to illustrate the cruelty done.

Babies are born perfect human nature is recognized as eligible for the normal legal protection as other people. Just a baby does not have any strength to defend itself in the form of energy or hide. Did the baby born in the normal state is an act of killing people.

I've never understood the logic behind the "abortion is murder unless X" statement. It either is, or isn't murder in ALL cases.

The definition of murder is this: the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought. Let's set aside the legality of abortion for now--it IS definitely legal in the US.

Killing of a human being: we can argue about this until the cows come home, but foetuses are not considered human beings under law. You personally may believe that they are human beings, but the law is what we should be referring to.

Malice aforethought: you could argue that abortion does have malice aforethought, because you are knowingly going in for a medical procedure that will kill the foetus. But anyway, 2 out of 3 of the definitions of murder are not satisfied by abortion, so legally, it is not murder.

Let's just say though, as a thought experiment, that abortion is considered murder. Killing a foetus even if it was a result of rape? That would be murder. Women are charged with murder, after all, if they go out and kill their rapist after the fact, and not in self-defence during the act. The only legal reason to commit abortion would be for self-defence--that is, if the woman's had valid reasons to believe that the pregnancy was going to kill or harm her. In that case, it would be a justifiable homicide rather than murder, and would be the only legally accepted reason for abortion.

In any case, I'm glad that the US does not consider abortion as murder. Forcing a woman to carry a child to term is unconscionable.

Funny how the topic has changed to abortion, but I feel strongly for this matter so I'll join along. I question those that say abortion as immoral as well. Which would you consider to be worse, to end the life a being before it reaches consciousness or make that being come to a life of malnourishment, stressed parents, and likely eventual death due to either starvation or mistreatment?

People don't choose abortion because they feel like killing babies or simply because they feel inconvenienced. Many choose it because they're unable to support themselves let along a demanding baby. Some pro-life may argue that those women should just apply for welfare and other support that the government provides, but that's not as easily accessible as most would believe and don't support any mother nearly enough with all the cuts the government has made. Worse (going back to the main topic for a moment) is if the mother is a teenager. Where will she find work to support and pay for herself and the baby? Would she even get support from her family considering she brought shame to it? Will the man support the girl or child? Can she even hope to further her education now that she's responsible for the toddler and have to work? How will the child grow up psychologically knowing or eventually finding out that his mother is a shameful identity in the eyes of society?

Another argument made against abortion is how those mothers should simply apply their child to adoption seeing as there are millions of potential adopters out there. However, the number of orphans already far exceed the number of potential adopters and grows at an astronomically faster rate. Not only that, this rate is WITH abortion legal; just imagine the rate of orphans with abortion banned.

I don't like the idea of destroying life as much as the next person, but I think most people need to grasp that abortion isn't an act of cruelty but an act of mercy. Forcing the birth of children into already down-trodden families is arguably a form of torture for them. Abortion is essentially (for many, not all) an act of euthanasia because not all children are born into a happy life with a welcoming family.

on the teen pregnancy topic...I think it's all about how many information children get especially at home, some people just don't want to realize that they children are interested in sex (or soon will be) as they are them self, letting only the school/government educate your child on sexuality is just plain stupid....I was so scared of getting pregnant some 10 years ago that I took the pill, used a condom and made him pull out at the same time -.-

If you lack the funds or will to take care of a child you ought not participate in activities that can get you or your partner pregnant. If you morally or financially cannot afford an abortion then you also should not participate in these activities.

"Funfact", about 2/3 of natural pregnancies end in miscarriage as the zygote fails to properly anchor itself in the womb. So to all the "pro life" lunatics out there: if there's a God he's the greatest abortionist ever, think of all the poor, poor zygotes! Going by the same logic you could prosecute woman who menstruate, for they haven't been knocked up... all those eggs are wasted yet they could've become a living a human! (...or not) ...or prosecute guys jerking off... all those poor sperm! Never mind that only a single one of the myriad would "get lucky" even in the best case... or less... getting a girl pregnant is not a given thing.

There is *no* logical reason against abortion when the girl is young, without income of their own and the US is already doing everything it can to kill the poor.

Whether abortions are humane or not can be debated on and on forever, but on the topic of teen pregnancies, they are pretty fucked up. To think at a young age of 15 or so to bring another human being like yourself into this world, when you can't support the baby financially or emotionally. The mothers life is pretty much over as unless they put the child up for adoption, the teen usually drops out of High School and the emotional damage that they put the baby up to when they grow up is unfair. It's pretty messed up to think that your mom was a teenager when she conceived you.

Just use a contraceptives or a fucking condom for christs sake.

The difficulty in acquiring the morning after pill probably also contributes to the high number of teenage moms. In most European countries you can get these through the medical emergency services. It makes sense to provide it too as the pill costs a lot less then an abortion for the state.

I personally think that many of them are just stupid and willingly had sex with who ever they wanted(raw) without thinking about consequences, with the exception of rape victims and whatnot. rather much I shouldn't really dwell into this topic too much
