did i become the bad guy here. damn. first i never said we should all die. i said that it would not matter to this planet if we did. hell i don't want all of us to die. but at the rate we are going its just going to happen.
Which asshole did you pull this out from?
its called common sense. all the things on this planet work towards that goal one way of another. humans don't. but if we did just up and die the damage is done so we cant die off we have to fix it.
so wait how did i become the asshole.

God damn, does someone want to sum up the last two pages so I don't have to spend an hour reading them?I did catch one thing - humans have no purpose on this planet. I used to have a friend who would say that humans have only one purpose, to pass on their seed. Personally, I think both are wrong and right at the same time.
Humans have no purpose on this earth, but neither do any other animals or plants. How do bees help the world? They keep plants alive, but what do plants do? How do plants help the world? Without going into a long chain, here's the point - things exist for other things, and if one disappears, they all disappear (that's the idea, at least), but so what? What if they all disappeared? Would the world end? Well, this planet might, but would the universe end? No. So what's the point of all of it? Easy, there is no point. So humans are as worthless as every other species on this planet.
And though humans (and every other animal) do instinctively want to breed, not every human feels an overwhelming need to do so. So while humans feel the need to pass on their seed, they all don't feel that they have to. If they do, or if they don't, it all ends up the same anyway. We're all equally worthless.
With all regards, I'll fix some things up... How do bees help the World? to keep plants alive as you said.. How do Plants help the world? They produce Oxygen which is vital for all living beings and more to that, They Feed Herbivore, and Carnivores Feeds on Herbivores to Keep them on balance so that Herbivores population won't overwhelm the plants.. The Carnivores will soon be deceased and feeds their body to the plants.
We'll leave it at that to shorten things up...you see, this world made of a Perfect Food Chain and it's all in harmony.. Without Humans in it..
For you with religions, you'll know that Human's appearance in this world is because a Curse...Human's are doomed for their stupidity to live in this earth, and soon will bring this world to their end.. That's why I agreed that Humans don't have purpose in this planet..
For Addition.. What are the examples of good things that Humans have done for the nature these days?.. Keep the Environment Green?..Protect Animals that're almost Extinct?..or whatever stuffs you're calling, remember that it's all because of us and for us as well..
Why Humans wants to keep This Planet Green and avoid the global warming?.. it's for ourselves coz we all live in here, and we are the one that caused this "Global warming" in the first place.. the same for the animals protection, we're the one who caused them overwhelmed and endangered.. and so on for other cases..
so let's face it..we're some kind of "Leechs" that sucking everything from this world and never give back anything.. We're the species that will lead this world to it's end.. we may have intelligence, but not with wisdom.. We Are the Species of Stupidity.. (+rep for the topic maker later)

then a gain a perfect food chain does not serve a purpose. It's just an infinite loop, a merry-go-round. It just makes you go "and then, now what?" in the end o.o;; with humans around, itll all end, without humans, its just gonna be stagnant.

No sir, you did not. But if we were to make a euphemism out of that sentence, it would look a little something like this:
(Spelling and grammar fixed)
Not matter my ass.
Oh really now? And it's common for who? People who believe in a higher power maybe?
What I meant was how the fuck would you know if there was "purpose" in life. Purpose implies that there is will to make it have purpose. Nature doesn't have will, it just happens, as far as our explanations can tell, without pulling out bullshit answers from deep inside of our rectum.
Trying to deny you said we should be wiped off the face of the earth.

@Itdan676: To be clear, I don't think you are an asshole, just a bit stupid.
Looking at things from a religious point of view, humanity is more important than other physical creatures because we are created in God's image. But religion is stupid, and should be ignored, especially when trying to speak rationally.
I know religion has only been brought up a little bit in this thread, but I thought I would address it and get it out of the way real quick there.
Even if humans are a race of idiots, we are also the only creatures that can recognize idiocy. And regardless of our intelligence, we are a significant part of the ecosystem. If humans never existed, the conditions of the earth would likely be vastly different; but not necessarily better. No one can now tell what the earth would be like if humans never existed, and now that we have existed this long, for us to suddenly disappear would be devastating to the ecosystem of the planet. Not that the planet would die, but it would certainly not be GOOD.
There isn't such a huge gap between humans and other living things. Man was created naturally, just like everything else, we simply have a larger capacity for creation and destruction than other animals do.
If you believe in evolution, then there is no reason to see mankind as a "virus" or anything. And if you don't believe in evolution, than you have no place in a rational conversation.
And if you DO see humanity as inherently bad or viral, there is a very simple solution; kill yourself.

to rbz123 i did say that but i never said i want it to happen.
and its a scientific fact.
to Dante1214 i believe in evolution but i don't believe that humans are a virus of any kind. and yes if we all disappear it would improve the ecosystem not really but it will get better over time. we are killing the planet. i think you know this. and don't call me stupid i don't think i every called you that. i am only saying whats fact that's all.
also this is the second time you told me to kill my self wtf is that.

I called you stupid because you believe things to be fact that are not.
Humankind disappearing would not be good for the planet.
I'm not saying that mankind doesn't do harm to the planet, I'm just saying that our elimination is not good for the planet either, and you probably think humans do more damage to the environment than we actually do anyway.
And I didn't tell YOU specifically to kill yourself this time. I said that any human who believes the human race to be so negative on the earth can help the problem by killing themselves.

we do allot more harm then good.
that's a fact sorry if you cant see it.
in fact if we die off nothing happens the plant would not care we do nothing for it so we don't matter at all.
so every human that thinks we are hurting the earth should kill them self's. that would be a big help. so we die and the ones that say fuck the planet live. i don't think so.besides i already did the killing my self thing i did not care for it. i just think more should care about there actions. but fuck it i really don't care. i just live my life the best i can that's all i can do. i just said the truth.

I'm not worried about the feelings of the plants.
You are operating from false assumptions. You seem to think that the human race is removed from the ecosystem of the earth, firing darts of evil at it. Despite it sounding like hippie bullshit, the easiest way to say it is that humans are connected to all other living things on this planet. It's not as simple as, "remove humans and the problem goes away." That's like cutting off someone's arm because they have an infected finger.
In fact, your own example is flawed. You basically seem to be saying that human life does nothing for plants. Which is wrong. There are some plants that are entirely dependent on humans to exist, but that's not a large portion at all, the bigger issue is that there are close to 7 billion humans on earth, all helping to produce the carbon dioxide necessary for plants to live. Would the loss of this eliminate all plant life? No, probably not, but it would certainly hurt it.
There is also the matter of fertilization of soil, which is also affected by human life.
My point here is that human's interaction with the Earth's ecosystem is not limited to the negative things that hippies like to point out. We are integrated into it as much as any other living thing. If all humans simply disappeared, the entire planet would have to scramble to adapt.
I realize that humans do bad things to the planet, but it's more important to focus on helping an ecosystem we are a part of than to see ourselves as a problem outside of it. Because we aren't outside of it.
Which is my whole point here.
And I don't think that people who see any harm humans do to the planet should kill themselves, I think that anyone who sees the human race itself as a pox upon the earth should kill themselves. By their own logic, it could only help.
Also, you said you did the killing yourself thing, but are clearly still alive, so you are also a failure.
You really should feel bad about yourself.

If we humans didn't exist, what would change? The world would survive longer? Why would that be good?
ltdan676, you're not going back far enough. What is the point of this world existing? If it's so humans can survive, then even if humans hurt the planet, it's worth it, because humans will survive. If this world exists for some other reason, then what the hell is it? So plants can be happy? Plants can't fucking think!
If the world exists solely for the sake of existence, then how is that any different from there not being any purpose at all? If no one notices the ramifications of a thing's existence, it doesn't have a purpose. And if humans are gone, then no one will notice the ramification of the world's existence, because animals and plants don't give a damn. They operate on instinct. They can't contemplate life or meaning. They just exist.
That's why in the past, religions deemed that animals and plants were put here by God simply to help humans, because if they aren't here to help humans, then why are they here? It's not like the earth itself is a living entity that can feel pain or happiness.
And I haven't "given up on it all." This is simply the place I got to when I thought about life and the nature of existence. I'm not sad or pessimistic. I'm just alive, and it doesn't matter if my life has no meaning in the grand scheme of things, or any meaning at all. I like being alive, so I live. I can have fun, so I live. But I don't for a second think that the things that make me happy (anime and manga, for example) have any effect on the universe.
The universe is a dark, cold place. It is an abyss that drowns us all in its complete lack of reason. And no one can escape that.

to Dante1214 i focus on the positive allot. but i really don't care about saving the planet as i do saving other humans. i was just saying we do allot of harm more then good. but it wont kill the earth as we would all be dead before that happens. anyways we do allot of good. we are coming out with new energy that wont harm us or animals. we are finding ways to stop hunger. and shit loads of other things. i am more into helping humans out more then the earth. no human can even think to help the earth if we cant help are own.
also i was nine when i did it so my glad i am a failure. if there's one thing to fail at it would be that.
to ShaggyJebus i agree with you on all of that. why does there really have to be a reason that we are here. i just live because i do.
also the planets fucked anyways so there really is no point. i am just saying we have to protected are home before it gets pissed and kills us.

That movie was a dramatized version of a remote possibility. Real ecological disaster would not happen so quickly.
And the phrase is "Don't shit where you eat." or "don't shit where you sleep." That's not a jab at you or anything, just a clarification.
But I don't see why it should matter how old you were when you tried to kill yourself. It's not hard to die. Anyone who fails to kill themselves either to much of a failure to accomplish the simplest of tasks, or they don't really want to die and it's one of those cry for help things.
Maybe I should be more sympathetic towards people who feel like that's their only choice, but I don't. Life sucks, get used to it or quit.

haha, you know I took one glance at the topic name and skimmed through all the posts. All I have it say is, People are stupid, humanity is stupid, there will always be 9 bad people for every 1 good person. Lies and corruption rule most of society. Easiest just to say, I live how I choose, I follow what I choose, and obey myself and only myself, I'm the kind of idiot that would die saving a stranger, Even if they were the kind of trash that just plain annoys me.

to Andoru-Kun that almost sums me up. i don't care what others think of me i live life how i like.
also out of everyone i have ever seen there is only one man who i agree with 100% of the time. that man is George Carlin. i grew up watching him. i live my life the way he did his. i think he makes more sense then anyone. and if you don't see that then i feel sorry for you.
anyways we do allot of harm but none of it matters here is what Carlin has to say.
