Specifically, I hate religious extremists. Not for how they get so into there own religion but how they enforce it.
Didn't Jesus teach Tolerence not enforcement. Even Jehovah's Witnesses don't do this.
My question to you is that should the U.S. government should limit the religion for enforcement on this shit?
Another one what is your opinion about these religious extremists?

I think you speak for all of us when you say, "I hate religious extremists."
Sometimes I feel embarrassed to be a religious person because of shit like this and it pisses me off. Especially since I really commend the troops for going overseas and helping our country while putting their lives on the line.
As for putting a limit on religious enforcement: It would mean censorship and restriction of religion, meaning breaking the 1st amendment.

I like them. They're funny, they're powerless enough not to make a real difference, the guy's sermons are hilarious, they're the personification of that ugly little side christianity has to it, and because they're so literally adhering to the bible, they can't simply be labelled apostates.
In a way they're what the taleban are to islam, the ultraorthodox to judaism, the hindu-hindi-hindustan folks to hinduism, etc.
As such, I welcome their very existence as a reminder and living monument of extremism.

*grumble grumble*
Don't remind me. I'm part of a ton of anti-Westboro groups. These people make me sick, and they make Pat Robertson look tame. -_-

I can only agree on what your saying. They are really funny. Actually I like your analogy to the taliban.

What do they even stand for hating god? I don’t get it at all but those people are crazy I’ve heard of them before and they’re just annoying. As for restricting these religious groups it would go against freedom of religion. It would be just as bad as stopping normal Christians or Jewish people. It’s there right to protest but I do think they shouldn’t be allowed to do it a funerals. It’s freedom to petition government not people. They can protest all they want to the government but when they cross the line to protesting people is wrong. Why can’t someone just run up and punch one of them then the cops would have to break it up and haul them down to the station. (laugh)
Look it’s Fox News not looking crazy here for once yeah.

Look, I hate the wesboro Baptist Church as much as the next guy, but I dont think that people who hate them should be talking about them like this.
if you just look at their website, what they're doing, and how their doing it, its clear there's only one thing they really want: attention.
I think that if we want to get rid of them, we just ignore them like you would a whiny little child. Sure, it'll get worse for a little bit, but after a while they'll give up and life will move on.
thats just what I think, if we were hoping to get rid of them.
thanks!

This whole thread is to make me see what other peoples opinions are. And yours is very good. This does look like a hate thread but that is because most people( ALL )are saying there own opinions.

true enough!
^_^; sorry, I automatically assume that anything involving the westboro's is a hate-fest, because it usually is. They have everyone and everyone hates them.
I have yet to see any middle grounds...
thanks!

I remember seeing some people protested against the protesters. It was hilarious, and the people were wearing white drapes to look like angels.

The good news is that the man who was in PD's video won his case. He was awarded 11,000,000$. I would say he must be pretty happy about that. Even tho no amount of money will ever make up for the lose of his son, a win against that hate-group known as the Westboro is a very good thing. Old news I know but still nice.

I have the sneaking suspicion that they're secretly crusaders for gay rights, and use these incredibly over the top demonstrations to make themselves into the anti-gay hate figures of the world. I mean, they even got FOX to defend gays for fucks sake! >.>

They had 5 protesters the scholl had over 200. I think the school won

Wow, that is just despicable. I really had something to say after watching a bit of that, but it got me too angry to reply rationally.
