[Locked] What truly is the point of hentai censoring?

I honestly find it completely retarded to censor hentai and doujinshi.

You can obviously tell what's going on, the only thing censoring does it make annoying black lines, or slightly blurring the 'good parts' only making the hentai or doujin in question less pleasurable.

A 4 year old who is completely oblivious to anything related to sex could tell whats going on, the censoring is so terrible. And if this 4 year old or someone else you don't wnat to see hentai or doujinshi stumbles across it, it's your(the parents) own fault for letting it happen.

I say, censor things right, (lame)
Or don't censor it at all. (w00t)

Here's my question:
Do you really think we need our hentai and doujins to be censored, no matter how horrible and pointless it may be?

let's just say...japan's law require such censorship to be done. and if you're asking about what's the point of that law....no answer. most laws are pointless anyway.

Yeah, I dont really see the point in cutting just some parts (for example the tip of the dicks, and why not the rest too). It's not like showin those stuff will make it more obscene. You can just look it up easily in the webs. Really its a bit of a turnoff...

Its just Japanese custom and law. It doesn't make sense, but neither do a lot of laws in many different countries unless you look at it from a cultural aspect.

Censorship doesn't bother me to much. Most of the time I'm focused on the big picture of sex rather then a spefic body part. The only time it really bothers me is when they zoom in in the penis or vagina. I mean what the fucks the point in doing that if your going to censor it?

Because when you have tentacles shoved so far up someone's ass that you can see it in the stomach, there has to be something about it that is civilized.

I heard once that it wasn't so much the penis or vagina they were censoring but the pubic hair. Don't know if that true or not...

I just find it sad whenever I look at some epic hentai like...oh..say...NISE MIDI DORONOKAI, any of his full color doujins, to be destroyed by those fucking white lines...it irritates the hell out of me. Must be frustrating for them too to have all there hard work censored with this shit.

Colored manga are kinda, but not ultra, rare. So when I finally get a hold of one, but its censored, it sucks.

We (as hentai enthusiasts) don't need this censorship crap, but if it required by Japanese law, well, we have to respect it because that's theirs to decide anyway since they govern over it.

But I have noticed that some hentai artists and mangaka are trying to veer their readers' attention away from the possibly censored parts of their work. I mean, for example, Tomohiro Kouda started to veer away from the campy sex and came up with amusing works such as Petit Roid and SekaxSeka that made readers enjoy his work even with possible censorship on the sex acts. The same with a few more such as Tsukino Jyogi and Kensoh Ogawa.

Anyways, I personally don't mind the modern way of censorship in eromanga that much, which is often very benign to begin with.
What really irks me is when the genital area is completely removed/left blank.
