I voted in the great state of North Carolina. Why did I vote? Because I did. Does my vote matter? No, because it all comes down to the electoral voters, who most people don't seem to understand, don't gotta go the same way as the majority vote in the state. And I voted for McCain.
The electoral college doesn't have to vote the same as the people, but it's not like the electoral college votes different in every election. The system is only set up that way so that some bumfuck who knows nothing about politics but is incredibly popular won't get elected President, in case such a thing ever happens.
Funny how that hasn't been working for us the last few presidential elections>.>

I voted to for national, local elections, and on state and city amendment propositions(Ohio).
I voted Obama of course, after having spent my summer working on his campaign. I also got the chance to vote against Dennis Kucinich, who is an idiot.
I see voting as a the chance we get to have our say in democracy. Even if, by means of the idiotic system that is the Electoral College, you vote in a state where presidential elections are a forgone conclusion, it's still an important chance to vote for local and state officials, who do have an important impact on politics, and to send a message to politicians that we are serious using our votes. Low turnout sends the message that we don't care what is going on in our state/country/county/city.

I was working. I drove to North Carolina then had to drive back to Georgia but, I still managed to vote.
Spiffy new machines though. All shiny and touch screeny.
I voted on everything from the national level all the way down to our coroner. Yeah, I even voted on our coroner. We're only had two murders in this city in the last ten years but, I'm confident this guy won't fuck things up.
I was a little disappointed on the numbers of Bob Barr. Though I'm not surprised the bastard never got his name or face out there. 7/10 American don't even know who Bob Barr is. He would have done better if 90% of Libertarians didn't vote John McCain just to try to keep Obama out of office. Stick to your principals you sons of bitches!
