Why do guys say these things?
0
My professor handed out some questionnaire to my class concerning about sexuality. The answer were free-response, so we wrote whatever we felt like. The next day, the professor announced the result of 33% of sexual offence from males toward women. In that instant, all the girl's eyes leered onto us guys with digust, and fear.
Coming from a guy myself, I felt offended that I was grouped into the "bad" guys who said these sexual offences. I just sat only thinking, "Well there's always guys like that. And there nothing we can do about it."
However, my teacher who is a female, presented a question "Why do guys say such things even though there are girls present?" And I'd like a few opinions from you guys and girls.

Wait...I'm a little lost. What are the "such things" that guys keep saying around girls, first of all? What was the test like? What were some of the questions?
Just to talk out of my ass a bit, it might be offensive, but think about it: The girls do NOT know you. And hey, the odds aren't good for them, clearly. Would you rather the girls avoid you, or would you rather the girls take GREAT pains not to alienate the guys, and even one of those guys is(are?) a rapist of some sort?

Yeah, i agree with HolyVader, we need actual examples of what these things are, before we can properly comment on what you are asking. There is always the chance that your teacher may just be overly sensitive to the commentary written as well.

If you mean that 33% of sexually offending responses directed at females came from males, then that leaves for 67% unaccounted for.

Yeah not really getting this, do that mean "in your professors opinion" that 33% of the guys were offensive towards women? Or did he have some sort of way to mark it?
Its not like they are gonna be marked by this for the rest of their life, your teacher would have to a dick to point out the guys who were dicks. Some of them might have just done it to take the piss and some of them might have just been honest, nothing wrong with either one. Sounds like a shit survey to be honest.

Some guys have no shame? That's the only answer I can think of right now.
Because of that 33% though it gives the rest of us a bad name.

On topic: A little calcification would be nice; what were the questions exactly?

Sorry. These are some to the questions:
What do you do when you are attracted to the opposite sex?
Some responses: "Grab their ass, tits, and call them my bitch."
"Sex, boobs and vagina."
What do you talk about when you're with the same sex?
Some responses:"How it's okay to rape the girl you want."
"Sex, boobs, tits, and vagina."
These were some of the professor's responses that she read out loud to the class.

Some guys are idiots, some are trolls. You know, it'd be possible that they're answering that way to piss off the professor.
Also...some guys don't think highly of women, and have the idea in their head that their own needs and pleasures are far more important than the rights of women. You know women have been raped at your college, and will continue to be, right?

Well, I think those guys are willing to say those kind of things about woman probably because they see them as nothing more then a means to gain pleasure or something. Well, 33% said things like that according to your teacher, but to the woman there they will likely avoid that percentage and group all males present into it from what you said about their reaction after the results were announced. It's a pretty touchy subject since the answer can be different from person to person, but in the end it's a wonder as to why your teacher actually talked about it afterward.

Because many guys are just perverted?
That´s the only answer I can think of.
Many guys are frustrated, because they don´t have a girlfriend.
And why do they don´t have a girlfriend? Because they are talking just perverted shit.

Because they are talking just perverted shit.Hey now, nothing wrong with perverted shit, but there's a difference between being a pervert, and being a creepy, unclassy idiot who clearly doesn't care one iota for his partner's health or happiness. He'd also be the same guy to fuck random girls without protection, and not care if he infects others if he happens to catch something.
Again, not saying having an open relationship is wrong, but this guy wouldn't look for an honest, open relationship. He'd just cheat, regardless of how his partner felt about it.
Why don't we crucify people again? Oh yeah, it's "inhumane". Pfffff. Anyway.

Your prof got trolled. Big time. I would have done the same especially if you have a bat crazy feminist professor.

I'm sorry, but your professor seems... stupid or irrational. Did she actually expect honest answers? What exactly were her goals with that questionnaire? Was she expecting something like: "Oh, I'd strike up a conversation!" or "Probably nothing because I'm a introverted shy guy that can never approach an attractive opposite sex."
If I were one of her students, I'd have probably answered as disgustingly as possible, especially if I knew she was going to read them out loud. The fact that she even felt disgust towards the response just shows her inexperience.
Side note: Based on the questionnaire questions, your class seems to neglect same-sex relationships and so forth.

Popular culture is hardly a paragon of upstanding morals and equality among genders.
Movies, music- almost everything that we indulge in for entertainment encourages such behaviour- and often falls into set-in-stone gender roles. Even videogames- which have numerous strong female role models- is undermined by the fact that those role models are still viewed as sex objects.
Women are partly to blame for this too, though- as they tread that delicate balance between wanting to fit in socially but not come off as an attention whore. Again- pop culture is to blame for the images and perceptions that they sell to kids, which basically boil down to:
"Boys- if you wanna be real men, you need to have huge muscles, big cars, big dicks, drink booze, and fuck as many girls as you can".
"Girls- if you want people to like you, you gotta look hot. Big tits, big butts, wear stilettos wherever you go, flaunt your cleavage, big, bountiful hair on the head but hairless bodies. Dancing and Waitressing are great jobs to have- but if you're a real go-getter, you can be the secretary of some rich guy".
There's more to this, of course- but this is pretty much the root of the whole problem.
Now don't get me wrong- I'm actually quite alright with sleaze- as long as it is localized and kept within the sleazier parts of town. (Red light district)
It's its propagation throughout every other facet of society that I don't like.

The professor got trolled.
Seriously, she should have said something like "serious answers only".
I mean, if someone asks me "is this gir l attrative?" then my answer would depend on how formal the required asnwer would be.
If the answer doesn't have to be formal, likely I'd say "I'd hit it" or "I'd hit it... with a shovel." IF, however, this was an formal essay I'd cough up a less offensive way of saying yes or no.
But because this professor did not give specific instructions as to how formal the answers should be... well, expect some answers to be on the funny side.
