Would you give up your life as a human, to be an animal?
0
I was talking to this one female. She's a cool girl and all. I've known her for a while too. Anyway, we've been talking for months and today she shows me an image of a half-human and half-animal being. I suppose you could call it a furry. Hell, you can probably call her a furry too. The image she showed me made me curious. So I asked her if she would ever become part animal and part human (if she could). She said yes and even mentioned that she'd give up her human life to become something like a furry or become an animal.
Me, I couldn't figure out why she'd do that, as well as the many others who would do it. To me, the idea of becoming a mix between an animal and a human seems, weird. It's not like certain fetishes where you wonder why/how people masturbate to it, but accept it anyway. For me, it's lol.. it's pretty much preposterous. It's like... are you a child..? You'd ditch your life as a human and become an animal?
But hey, I guess under certain circumstances it's better to leave behind your human life. There are advantages to being something other than human. But still, I can't help but wonder why you'd abandon your life as a human (leaving behind friends and all) to become an animal...? She explained her thoughts on it to me, but I'd like to hear others views.
If you'd leave behind your life as a human to become an animal, explain why.
If you wouldn't do it, feel free to discuss why you wouldn't.

p.s. I was going to place this in random (since the question is random), but I feel it can be taken seriously, under the right circumstances. Hopefully nobody has a problem with the location. Additionally I've been on Fakku 1year+ and haven't seen a thread like this. If there was though, I missed it. If there was a thread like this, feel free to leave a simple comment explaining that there was another. Doing so will bring it to my attention and this thread can die out.

Hm...I'd have to say no. I prefer my place here at the top of the food chain, rather than being one of the bottom links that is likely to get eaten. Animals are lame compared to us. And more fuzzy. I don't want to be all fuzzy.

Maybe I would.. If I can be something like this..

As an awakened being, I can take human form even though I'm no longer human XP..
That aside.. The answer is NO for becoming an animal

I don't want to be all fuzzy.That's one main reason I wouldn't do it. Humans are pretty much superior, even if cruel in some cases. You lose many abilities becoming an animal and are at a greater risk. If you're a wild animal or a farm animal, you may not have to deal with the situation of being hunted. However, if you're something like a cat or dog, you need others to feed you most of the time or rely on left over food being dropped/placed somewhere you can reach it. Plus, there's animal abuse. Human's have a better possibility of putting an end to abuse than everyday animals.
Anyway, thanks for your answer.
@Shinichi Miyamoto
Lol, that picture is pretty "badass". I like it. And yeah, that seems fine with me. The idea of changing, if you could change back seems helpful. But completely giving up your human life and taking on the life of an animal (forever leaving friends, family and loved ones behind) seems... unreasonable to me. Of course, there may be some exceptions where it may be understandable. None come to mind though.

-my first reason would be sometimes it's too much work!
-secondly i like furry.
so it's okay but mostly i would like to be half human/animal my choice would be with a bird so i can have they're wings and fly(one of my childhood dreams) then again, if i leave my human life i would have forgotten those dreams right?
so everything i said would be for nothing ...
so no i prefer being a human and keep my memories.

i like fuzzy :( , and your right animals are always on the run from predators that hunt them, almost like criminals are on the run from the police. some animals have territorial ground they mark/ for humans we have property, animals protect they're young from danger/us humans have some overprotective parents.. etc.were all alike in some way,they're not lame is just that most humans view them(animals) as only animals, it's because that we can't communicate, it's the difference in language and intelligence.
BTW sorry tsuyoshiro sempai, didn't meant to be so obnoxious toward you for using the word fuzzy/animals and sorry for misunderstanding the word lame for stupid when you were clearly saying something that doesn't interest you and sorry again for typing too long.

umm this one is a tough one to anwser. But I would say, if I was able to turn back then I might turn into an animal. Why? Well as we humans grow up, stress and change starts to happen to us through society. Such as for example I for one, am in a crossing point in my life. Should I carry on staying here where I live to get my IB degree or should I go to UNSW to do the foundation course?
However if I was to become a creature and stay that way for the rest of my life never to ever have to worry about such problems as my life will only be daily basis of eat sleep and shit. On the other hand it would also be very difficult as I am used to my human life. As I am sitting here typing this as an animal I could not be able to do this.
So in conclusion if I am able to be able to still have a human intellect and the will of humans then I will choose to stay animal than be human.

@P=mangakaL!
Lol, I figured someone who liked furry would post here.. eventually. And well, dreaming and all sounds cool... but I just don't think it's worth giving up your human life for. As for whether or not you'd forget those dreams.. I do not know. But if you could be an animal, such as a bird, and keep your logic as well as your memories... that'd probably be cool. mwong04 mentioned something something just like that in his post.
"if I am able to be able to still have a human intellect and the will of humans then I will choose to stay animal than be human."
And about the work thing, that's so true. However, I wouldn't give up this life just because of work, lots of it.
I like to hear that. It makes me feel as though you really had to think about it. Your post shows that you thought about it too, which is something I appreciate. It makes me feel as though putting this is Serious Discussion definitely wasn't a mistake.

Well that's one of the justified reasons I considered, as to why someone might take on the life of an animal. Somethings, when things are stressful, people wish they were dead. But even better than being dead is being able to drop that life and have a new one. Lol, too bad there's no reset button on life/parts of it. But that's another topic.
Getting back to what you said, avoiding stress and problems that come with life (becoming an animal in the process) is pretty reasonable. However, I feel it's not a good choice if the stress and problems aren't all that extreme and can be easily solved with some effort.
@Soul_Slayer
If I knew of an "animal" with a better accessibility to Reason than a human, than yes, I would.[/quote]
Hmmm, alright then. And well, I suppose if the animal you become has several traits that outdo those of a human.. it makes some sense.

Simply, No.
Well, maybe an African penguin but, then I'd have to worry about those fucking killer whales, other birds like seagulls, sea lions amongst a few. I'd also have to eat fish...yeah, I'm not seeing that happening. I'll stick with being human.

I seriously don't understand what furry-lovers like above to think about considering it..
Becoming an animal (Or u want to call it furry?) means devolving, You'll not be able to think nor having emotions.. There will be nothing to worry about but also nothing you can hope for your joy.. A thoughtless life purely basing on instincts, your everyday life will be an endless decisive fights to live..
So.. Considering the above fact, did you all furry-lovers still longing for that kind of life?..

After reading your reply I forgot about this thread and went on wikipedia, looking at images of images of African penguins as well as researching them. Haha. Never quite heard of that animal 'till now. Anyway, sticking with human sounds like the best option to me. The only good/decent reason I've seen so far (for why people would change race) is because you can escape life's problems/issues (life's, of course, refers to the life of a human).
Also, nice to see you back on the forums. I saw a few of your earlier post. Reading them has been nice.
@Shinichi Miyamoto
Lol. So you understand me well, based on your post. I just don't see why you'd want to be a furry, other than escaping the negative aspects of your life. And even then, you'd have even more problems to deal with. I mean, I don't hate people who like Furry or want to be a furry or mix between animal and human. I just think the idea is kinda ridiculous if you're doing it just because. Ah, but I guess even adults have wild imaginations too, sometimes. The chick who I mentioned in my first post is an adult.

No, I would never do so.
Personally, I rather enjoy the ability to use thumbs(not including primapes and the like) and technology. It also helps that, being human, you are not liable to be eaten on the whim of another animal, as long as you stay in a safe place.

As an example to counter this, dolphins have shown to have emotions and an intricate thought process. They kill and fuck for joy. They play around with animals with out harming them physically, but cause what I would assume to be distress in certain situations. They understand requests and commands in human languages, and can also take visual cues. They have also been known to be empathetic, and help out other species in altruistic manners. Not all animals are as low on the thought process chain as you make them out to be.
Beyond that, I know people who don't do much thinking beyond what would make them feel good for a few moments. Sleep, eat, fuck and shit. That seems pretty thoughtless and based on instincts to me.
Edit: No, I would not trade my life to be something I am not right now.

Okay2.. So all you countered against is the thought about animals not having emotions.. But that's not the point really.. >_>

Definitely. If changing form means becoming food for humans, or even other animals, then I definitely would not do it. I'd never do it anyway though. I suppose I'd made that clear though. And like you mentioned, becoming an animal results in us losing a lot. No more Fakku (and internet), no ability to make food on your own, play videogames, watch what you please on tv, play sports, or whatever it is that you do. Hell, lol, you couldn't even fap to hentai...
@Space
Lol. Can't explain why but reading your post was enjoyable. And I agree with what you said about animals/emotions. I simply chose not to comment on that part since it wasn't a big deal IMO. But yeah, glad to see you agree about not trading your current life for becoming something else (which is perhaps much lower in status and hierarchy).

No, mostly because you'd probably lose your human intelligence. If you could go back and forth between the two bodies, while keeping your intelligence, why not.
If you could get parts done, I could see that booming as a teen fad or something. Like in Batman Beyond....splicers...yeah...

I love animals, I really do! But regarding this question, I probably won’t agree on giving up my life as a human. I treasure all of my experiences as a human, a person. Those happy and sad moments that is full with emotions, hardships and hurdles that I tried my best to overcome. I smile whenever I recall all of these experiences. I also had formed lots of bonds throughout the span my lifetime like family, friends, acquaintances and et cetera.
Turning into an animal, losing those life experiences and bonds you forged? I probably won’t. = 3=
I also know that humans have a great intellectual capability which an animal doesn’t have; we can learn things that animals can’t learn. For Example, using a computer and browsing Fakku! and etc. XD Learning specialties, abilities and having talents that would enhance our being.
Animals too have great advantages that we humans don’t have but I won’t further elaborate that.

Thank you :3
Kind of obvious (and if it sounds blunt, sorry), but to me, losing all my emotions and supposed intellect would be a big deal for me... Not to mention everyone and everything in my life. If I could be guaranteed (lolwut) a similar status in another group of beings, I would still say no.
As for devolving, that's a load. Although there is common ancestry, we did not come from dogs or horses or pigs or what have you. Unless you would like to become a protist.
0
@tsujoi I agree. Having intelligence would probably make it worth it, especially if you can go back and forth. But if you're simply unable to change back to a human it seems a bit lame. So I'd never do it. Changing from time to time though (or on command), sure. That seems fine.
And batman beyond was and is an amazing show. People say it sucked (unlike the other batman serie(s), but I don't agree.) However, that's another topic for another time. Getting to what you were saying about the splicing though...
it probably would be just like that, something humans are interested in. Hmm, I'd probably be a bit interested myself... but pretty skeptical.
@Yuuki
For some reason, that part of your post about your emotions, family, friends, acquaintances, hardships, obstacles, happy and sad experiences, and so on really reminded me of this female I knew. She was probably my closest friend, it's too bad we drifted though (we actually dreamed of forming a band together once, having common goals and all). Ah.. the experiences we go through as a human. As you pointed out, they're not really worth losing and are treasured things.
And yeah, humans definitely seem to be on top when it comes to intellect and certain abilities we possess. That's a main reason why I wouldn't give up being human.
Finally, yeah no need to elaborate on the advantages that animals have. I was considering explaining those too but felt it wasn't necessary. But yeah, thanks for answering. Your reply was nice, brought back memories.
@Space
You're welcome.
And lol yes, losing emotion as well as intellect is pretty lame. I'm kinda happy with my current level of intellect. Sometimes though, I wonder about my emotions lol. But for the most part, they're okay.
Haha, do you believe we involved from monkeys, space? You commented on us not coming from dogs and all, which is why I want to know. Of course the theory of us evolving from monkeys is a sub-topic (and not the idea of why i made this thread), but I'm interested in knowing what you believe on the matter.

No, I don't think we came from monkeys, I was just commenting on the fact that someone said they would be 'devolving' if they were able to choose another animal to become. I'd like to think the theory of evolution, natural selection and all that, is the way things really happened. Hence, protists (I'm almost this is the right set of germs) being one of the correct answers for devolution :3.
Sorry I kind of brought this up in the wrong thread... If you'd like I don't mind continuing in PM's. Although, it's entirely up to you to decide this matter :D
