I wouldn't. I'm not that greedy.

There was a Skit on youtube with the same scenario two years ago.

A man awoke in a room with a red button in front of him and a man behind a desk past the button. He couldn't remember how he got there. The guy at the desk explains that if he were to press the button, he would kill a person and in exchange 10million bucks. The man panics the entire skit. The man behind the desk pressures him and eventually he presses it. Silence. The man starts bleeding from his skull; he remembers, he was in a car accident. The man at the desk says that he is God and that he's going to Hell. God states that when man was born there was sin and he needed to test the will of each person. The dying man asks who did he kill. God says, "You don't need to worry about that. I'm seeing him next."

I'd push it for the hell of it. It is only human nature to press buttons even if it says do not press. Its not for the money, just cuz.

Yea i would push it. My reasons are simple. I have no more care for the lives of others. All most people do is lie cheat and steal from others. So killing one of those people has no effect on me. I don't even care about the money. It is a nice bonus, i could buy me a new xbox or something. Mostlikly i would pay for my grandmas surgery to get her heart worked on. Im not sure what the procedure is so i cant really put a name to it. But yes i would deffinitly push the button.

If the guy has a million dollars why not just wait for him to come back then kill him and have both the box and the money, you killed someone but who wants someone like that alive anyways?

It would be so much more interesting if someone you did know would die.

I'm naturally curious, and I love to question things. I wouldn't be here today if I hadn't been "pushing the button" my entire life. So, my answer is yes.

Edit: I don't think I made it clear originally: My opinion is based off of the fact that I think if I push the button nothing would happen. If I knew for sure someone would die, I wouldn't push it obviously.

Yeah I would. Maybe I'd get lucky and the person who gets killed deserves it.

I'm not really a material person. That's not to say I wouldn't consider doing it, but there's a chance that I could wind up killing someone I don't want to. Even if the odds are exceedingly high, I couldn't be totally satisfied after the fact. Its not like I'd even be seeing all of it. Even if I don't have to pay taxes, people would be hitting me up all the time, I'd end up buying shit for people, knowing me, I'd probably wind up donating some of it to charity or some shit. I'd say there's like a 50/50 chance I'd press it, but I'm not sure.

The guy has a supernatural box. I'd bet money that this guy is also supernatural; he is, after all, the guy who obtained it in the first place. Good luck killing him.

For me, there's no choice at all. Call me weird, but I don't see a dilemma.

What gives me the right to push that button and possibly benefit from someone else's demise? I can't push my beliefs and way of life on other people, but for myself, I'm sure as hell not going to compromise for something transient like money.

Most of you guys who said you would press it "just for hell of it cause it's fun even though I know I'm gonna kill someone hurr durr" probably wouldn't have the balls to do it if you were actually in the situation and knew for a fact that someone (presumed innocent or otherwise) would die. That's ridiculous. It has baffled me that I read THAT many posts consisting of that. Honestly, do you REALLY believe that you would do that? It doesn't make you cool or badass for not giving a shit about a persons life.

That's the great thing about made up scenarios. Given the chance, I probably still would. Not to act cool or bad ass, but because I'm truly a dick.

Even though I'm quite sure that what you say about many people not having the balls to do this is true, I think you underestimate what many people could and would do if it were absolutely sure that they would get away with it, and even better as in this case, get something good out of it (with this I mean the money if that was unclear).

I said that I would press the button, and I really think I would if faced with this choice. This is not a matter of being cool, this is a matter of me getting money that I want and need for a small price. For other people to estimate a humans worth as something above money is hypocritical, who are they to decide what it's worth? On the opposite, it has been 'proven' over and over again that a life isn't worth much at all in the terms of money or w/e.

If there was someone else who pushed the button and I died, I wouldn't hold it against him, it is his loss if he don't do it. I don't really care if some moraly stuck-up hypocrite says I'm a dick either, since that is something I can perfectly judge for myself.

I find most of society to be a bunch of idiots that this world would be better off without. But I don't consider myself to be malevolent. But maybe I just hope if I hit that button, someone who honestly deserved it would get killed off.

I guess I get why you wouldn't believe me. But regardless of how or why, I'd hit the button.
